Morning Open Thread haz a sad this morning.
As I compose this, I have been switching back and forth to several technical channels regarding the weather. Windy, FlightRadar24,and Climate Reanalyzer, among others. Just finished reading the excellent Hurricane Maria update by FishOutofWater.
Mexico City was hit by a magnitude 7.1 earthquake today. Two weeks ago, a magnitude 8.1 earthquake hit the same area. On September 19, 1985, Mexico City was struck by a giant earthquake that killed 9,500 people. Hurricane Maria is about to strike St. Croix as I write this.
My heart bleeds and weeps for those who will surely die tonight. Even more so for their loved ones who survive and must carry on.
I want to honor them by recognizing the beautiful music the Caribbean countries have given us. For that task, I turned to Playing for Change.
