Repeal of the Affordable Care Act would be the meanest national act America has committed since slavery. Thirty million would lose coverage and live in fear. Millions would die unnecessarily for want of medical care. This includes hundreds of thousands of children.
We must flood the airwaves with devastating commercials opposing Graham-Cassidy, the latest and worst version of “repeal and replace.” Come on, AARP, get on the air and send your members to rallies to defeat this. Massive and vocal, albeit peaceful, protests are the best way to ensure defeat of Trumpcare. TV Commercials from Trumpcare opponents (are they asleep this time?) like AARP and the American Medical Association are the best way of getting people aroused and organized into protests in the best American tradition.
We must protest live and loudly at every Senator’s (and House member’s) headquarters, both in the home district and in the District of Columbia. We must show up at every town hall we possibly and make sure that the press knows we are there.
Let’s not forget House members. If the Senate passes Graham-Cassidy (we can’t let it happen), it still can’t become law unless the House votes to accept it unchanged. Let’s go after every house member, email them, write them, and most of all show up at their headquarters — take nothing for granted!
