There are less than two dozen seats available for Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell’s sham hearing on a sham healthcare bill. Here’s a photo of the entire section made available to the public for this hearing and bear in mind that after this photo was taken, Matt Fuller reported they removed many of these seats to make room for more wheelchair constituents.
Alice Ollstein reports reports Republicans refused to move the hearing to a larger venue.
That didn’t stop a massive crowd of people concerned about their healthcare coverage to line the hallways, hoping for a spot in the hearing room. You have to see this, the line is so long, it stretches into another building. WATCH:
Ollstein and Fuller also report overhearing some interesting conversations from the Capitol police, who are apparently preparing to make mass arrests.
Ollstein is also reporting that people were paid to be first in line, a very common practice in Senate and House hearings, and that the concerned citizens are being denied entry for those handful of seats.
These are the types of people being shut out of the hearing.
These activists are echoing the same comments they made when they protested in July, when many of these same citizens were arrested. They’d rather go to jail than to live without Medicare.
