(Polling) The Major Poll that Consistently Predicted a Trump 2016 Victory Sees a Democratic Blowout by linc
Remember the shade people cast on the USC/L.A. Times poll leading up the the 2016 election? I sure do. A lot of it was justified from a popular vote perspective. The USC/L.A. Times poll consistently showed Trump winning. The end result/final numbers for the USC/L.A. Times poll in 2016 saw a victory for Trump and one that was pretty close to his actual vote percentage, but not Clinton’s.
The poll was arguably the most conservative-leaning polling in 2016…
Well, USC and the L.A. Times are back and while I in no way wish to create any sort of in-the-bag narrative, I would like to remind some folks around here, the supposed core of the progressive movement, that the hand wringing is ridiculous and pointless. From today’s poll from USC/L.A. Times:
The challenge for Trump is that this time, he’s not matched up against Hillary Clinton. Instead, the election has been driven by two forces: Democrats’ deep anger toward Trump and what he stands for, coupled with the desire of a smaller, but crucial, bloc of swing voters to have Congress provide a check on a president whom many see as headstrong and risky.
The latest USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times poll of voters nationwide shows Democrats with a 55%-42% lead when likely voters were asked which party’s candidate they would vote for in the Nov. 6 midterm election. The survey is the first of three weekly tracking polls of voter sentiment that USC and The Times plan to release between now and election day.
(Voting) Texas voting machines flip Senate vote on straight Dem ticket to Cruz; Secty of State blames voters by 1BQ
Memorize or store in your phone the number for the Election Protection Hotline in case you or someone you know experiences any irregularities while voting or trying to vote: 866-OUR-VOTE
Texas voting machines streamline voting by allowing voters to select a straight D or R party ticket, as noted here. As I understand it, the voter can modify individual selections before casting the vote. However, some voters who select Team Blue are getting an unwelcome surprise — the screen for verifying the selections showed that their vote for Senator was flipped to Ted Cruz. (Many examples in the story)
(NC-10) Who is Patrick McHenry and why is he trying to kill me? by Man from Wasichustan
Who is Patrick McHenry?
Greetings from Asheville, NC, the actual Island of Misfit Toys, home to more than 80 breweries, one of the most amazing live music scenes in the world, scenery folks travel thousands of miles to experience, and a progressive freaky multicultural paradise … oddly enough represented in Congress by an Actual Nazi ..Mark Meadows of NC 11 … and the man who is only remarkable for his unremarkability … Patrick McHenry, who, thanks to illegal gerrymandering has “represented” me and my neighbors since 2012 in NC 10.
NC 10 was created for a toady like Patrick McHenry, an R+15 paradise neither party would ever have to pay any attention to, meaning our votes mean nothing. Which is probably why Patrick McHenry thinks he can get away with killing me ...

Writers can help the ER team and readers by identifying the race in the beginning of the title like this:
(NY-Sen) (FL-14) (GA-Gov) (AZ-StSen) (MN-StHs-07). Readers will be scanning a list of stories and this standard method of quick identification is really helpful.
