Received this e-mail today from Randy “Ironstache” Bryce (D. WI-01) in support of Dr. Hiral Tipirneni’s (D. AZ-08) congressional campaign for the Special Election to fill disgraced Rep. Trent Franks’ (R. AZ-08) vacant seat:
In the last month or so, we've done some remarkable things the pundits said were impossible. In Pennsylvania, we defeated Paul Ryan's hand-picked candidate in a district Donald Trump won by 19 points and now Conor Lamb is in Congress, fighting for working people.
Then we defeated Paul Ryan and Scott Walker's anti-worker pick for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and soon Justice-elect Rebecca Dallet will be on the Court, fighting to ensure our justice system works for families like yours and mine.
And as you've probably heard by now -- Paul Ryan got so scared of the grassroots movement we're building, that he called it quits. So, there's no doubt in my mind that we can win Tuesday's special election for Arizona's 8th Congressional district if we keep building each other up.
Even though Donald Trump won this district by 21 points, the most recent poll shows Democrat Dr. Hiral Tipirneni holding on to a 1 point lead. And now, Paul Ryan is so scared of losing this race that tonight he's holding a $75,000 fundraiser to bail his hand-picked candidate out.
Chip in $3 or more to help Dr. Hiral Tipirneni fight back and get out the vote in the final days of this important race.
Dr. Hiral Tipirneni knows what it's like to struggle and overcome adversity. She came to America from India with her family at the age of three. As a child, she often accompanied her mother, a social worker, who worked with seniors and started a Meals on Wheels program.
After losing her mother and nephew to cancer, Dr. Tipirneni has directed her passion and problem-solving skills to evaluating and directing funding for cutting-edge cancer research.
So I know she'll fight to pass a "clean" DREAM Act and to protect programs that seniors depend on, like Meals on Wheels and Social Security. And as a cancer survivor who was forced into bankruptcy because of medical bills, I know she'll not only fight to help cure cancer but also to make healthcare more affordable for all by protecting Medicaid and expanding Medicare.
Dr. Tipirneni's opponent, like Conor Lamb's in Pennsylvania, was hand-picked by Paul Ryan. She's a career Republican politician who doesn't believe in climate change, who backs the gun lobby, and who supports Ryan's plan to cut Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.
We don't need more out-of-touch politicians in Congress. We need leaders like Dr. Tipirneni who have a prescription for real change. I would be proud to serve alongside Dr. Tipirneni in Congress, but with the race a dead heat, she needs our help to get out the vote if she's going to get to DC.
Chip in $3 or more now to send a doctor to Congress to fight for working families.
Thank you,
Randy Bryce
