Trump Down across the board
AND Down among white men, no college-degree, a net change of minus 7

NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist Poll, Jan. 10-13, 1,023 adults.
While the longest government shutdown in U.S. history continues, President Trump's approval rating is down, and there are cracks showing with his base.
A new NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll finds Trump's approval rating down and his disapproval rating up from a month ago. He currently stands at 39 percent approve, 53 percent disapprove — a minus 7-point net change from December when his rating was 42 percent approve, 49 percent disapprove.
Three polls this week that have him at 37%, 37%, and 39% approval each.
- Down significantly among suburban men, a net-positive approval rating of 51-to-39 percent to a net-negative of 42-to-48. That's a net change of down 18 percentage points.
- Down a net of 13 points among white evangelicals, from 73-to-17 percent approve to 66-to-23 percent approve.
- Down a net of 10 points among Republicans, from 90-to-7 percent approve to 83-to-10 percent.
- Down marginally among white men without a college degree, from 56-to-34 percent approve to 50-to-35 percent approve, a net change downward of 7 points.
On suburban men, ALL change is from approval to disapproval.
If he were to win shutdown fight, I’d wager every single one of these changes reverses.
So, this is more incentive for Pelosi and Schumer to hold fast.
Trump loses support among core voting groups as the shutdown drags on: Polls
- President Trump is hemorrhaging support amid a political standoff over his proposed border wall that has resulted in the longest government shutdown on record, recent polls show.
- The president even appears to be losing favor with his core constituents.
- The poll results come as multiple Democratic lawmakers announce 2020 bids to challenge Trump.

Even Rasmussen Reports' measure of Trump's overall approval, a number that has generally skewed more favorably toward the president, has slid 7 percentage points to 43 percent from a Dec. 5 high.
Yes, his poll catastrophe is coming just as Dems are announcing their 2020 candidacies.
But how’s his average doing?
The partial government shutdown is beginning to drag on President Trump’s approval rating, which is at its lowest point in months. As of early Wednesday evening, his approval rating was 40.2 percent, according to our tracking of public polling, down from 42.2 percent on Dec. 21, the day before the shutdown began.
Opinion piece on Fox News yesterday:
On shutdown, it's Pelosi and Schumer 1, Trump 0
Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are fighting to end the partial government shutdown – or as some see it, the “showdown” between them and the president –
and they are winning. I am not alone in this opinion.
The numbers back it up. Polls show the majority of Americans blame President Trump and Republicans for this shutdown – not Speaker Pelosi or Senate Minority Leader Schumer.
Why? A majority of Americans do not favor building a wall, which is at the crux of this shutdown.
While most voters believe there is a border crisis, they don’t feel Trump’s border wall will solve the problem, echoing the sentiments of the Democratic leadership. Add in that Trump’s approval ratings stand at 41 percent, the lowest since September, while his disapproval rating is 54 percent, the highest it’s been since September. Plus the fact that for the first time in his presidency, he is less popular than Nancy Pelosi, his main adversary.

57% of voters in that poll say that the definitely will not vote for trump in 2020. The RNC is going to get decimated in fundraising.
