So a few days back I came across this article at Splinter News and I thought, this is a hilarious yet serious thought. The article is referencing a Washington Post columnist, who in all senses of the word is dumber than dirt, posited the following:
Okay??
Responses to this “awesome” tweet did not get better. But leave it to the columnists at Splinter to make this not only an insult to the morons in this twitter thread but also to give quite a few bawhaha’s.
Which Dead People Would You Dig Up and Disturb Their Eternal Rest and Bring Back to This Shitworld Just to Get Their Trump Takes?
Anyway, since the original respondents to this question seem to mostly be either children or cowards, we here at The Heartbeat of Next have decided to give the gift of a new heartbeat to three people each, who I imagine absolutely do not want that at all.
As for me, my three are James Baldwin, Emma Goldman, and Saddam Hussein. The first two are self-explanatory, as they’re two of the most brilliant and influential thinkers of the 20th century. And as for the third, well, it’s just really funny to me to think about Saddam being a regular panelist on Meet the Press.
Several writers give their take, read it is quite entertaining on a day you need to be entertained, you know instead of being outraged.
My picks: Molly Ivins, George Carlin and Iron Man. Why Iron Man? Because he does the SNAP!! That’s why, snap us back MCU! We need a do over.
Well, well, well, my, my, my. So as more and more damaging information arises the (yes I am still using shades of orange), tangerine toddler and his tubby doj counterpart are refusing, Refusing I tell you to cooperate in any, ANY impeachment inquiry. They sent a letter so that should take care of it. AND it was a whole 8 pages, of bullsh*t.
This is the usual placeholder for Onward but wait…
Democrats see an upside to Trump stonewalling their impeachment inquiry
The Trump administration’s decision to block a key witness from testifying in the Ukraine-related impeachment inquiry isn’t a concern for House Democrats. In fact, they say that move gives them even greater ammunition for President Donald Trump’s impeachment.
Here’s why: keeping US Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland away from congressional investigators on Tuesday may only increase perceptions that Trump aims to obstruct justice. While Democrats will subpoena Sondland and others the White House could try to stop from giving testimony, they say the fact that they have to compel appearances is damning enough.
“The failure to produce this witness, the failure to produce these documents, we consider yet additional strong evidence of obstruction of the constitutional functions of Congress,” House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) told reporters on Tuesday.
And, curtains please:
Democrats subpoena Sondland for testimony, documents
The chairmen of the three House committees leading Democrats' impeachment inquiry on Tuesday issued a subpoena to Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland, the same day the State Department blocked him from testifying.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.) and Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) are now demanding that Sondland appear for a deposition on Oct. 16 at 9:30 a.m.
The committee chairmen are also asking that Sondland hand over documents and communications by Oct. 14 related to President Trump's efforts to pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to open an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden and the business dealings of his son, Hunter, and the withholding of financial aid to Ukraine.
"In light of Secretary Pompeo's direct intervention to block your appearance before our committees, we are left with no choice but to compel your appearance at a deposition pursuant to the enclosed subpoena," Schiff, Engel and Cummings wrote in a letter to Sondland.
If you feel bombarded by the constant barrage of outrageous criminal behavior, please do not hide under the covers, remember they are trying to create distractions to cover their overtly impeachable and cuffable acts. They want to rile up their faux news devotees, but they also know even if they survive this, they won’t, they cannot win without outright theft, lying, cruelty and criminality, because their base is not enough to win. So there is that. What can we do, plenty! Get to that later.
SHUT UP! The GOP Is Not Panicking About Impeachment Poll Numbers, YOU LIE!
If you build it, they will come. Whether it's a baseball diamond or a case for impeaching the president of the United States, if you put in the work, the people will come around. Well, not the 35 percent of the country that falls into Trump's basket of diehard deplorables -- your drunken uncles are gone and they're never coming back. But our fellow citizens who aren't irredeemably brainwashed by Rupert Murdoch are slowly but surely coming to their senses.
In fact, a full 58 percent of them support the impeachment investigation according to a Washington Post-Schar School poll released yesterday. That's a full 20 percent swing over the summer, including among Republicans, whose opposition decreased from 59 percent in July to 38 percent last week.
...once Americans saw that transcript of Trump's Ukrainian shakedown phone call, a whole lot more of them were ready to impeach the motherfucker already. And for all we know Donald Trump is right this very moment shit tweeting about the JEFF BEZOS AMAZON WASHINGTON POST FAKE NEWS -- we tapped out of his Tweets about lunchtime to protect our own mental health (and our ability to concentrate in synagogue this evening) -- but we note that the Schar School is at George Mason University, which is hardly a hotbed of liberalism.
The poll has some even more interesting data points -- and by interesting, read "likely to make President Great and Unmatched Wisdom shit his diapers." While 86 percent of Democrats and 57 percent of independents surveyed support the impeachment investigation, a full 28 percent of Republicans also feel that Adam Schiff might actually have a point. Turns out brazenly asking multiple foreign governments to help you get reelected is kind of a bad strategy. Who knew!
Hahahahaha! Awww , poor liddle mango maniac and his rethug followers.
And then there is this, who’d a thunk it…
Cowardly Republicans learn the hard way: Donald Trump was never their friend
Editor’s note, sorry Salon is so spammy.
One of the unexpected joys stemming from the Democratic House majority finally finding the courage to start an impeachment inquiry is to see Republican politicians are finally getting a taste of their own medicine. For decades, Republicans have championed an Ayn Rand-esque philosophy that exalts the rich and the powerful and treats working people as a resource to be mined, rather than as people who deserve respect, much less fair compensation for their work. Now, as they grovel before Donald Trump, Republicans are finally getting a glimpse of what it's like to be on the losing end of the Randian social contract.
When it comes to the Ukraine scandal and the impeachment inquiry, the deal between Trump and Republican politicians is straightforward: They are expected to fight for him, even at great cost to themselves, and in return he will give them nothing. The best most Republicans can hope for is that their overlord will decide to let them live in peace, instead of randomly tweeting down havoc upon them.
But waste no tears for Republican politicians. These people have spent their careers trying to create a society where the powerful can exploit and abuse everyone else at will. They've worked tirelessly for a society where employers can underpay and overwork their labor, while workers can't organize for better treatment. For a country where people of color live in terror of being randomly harassed or even killed by police with no recompense. Where young women who are raped on campus are stymied in their efforts to get justice — and are denied access to reproductive health care to prevent being forced to bear a rapist's child.
In other words, Republicans have long backed the idea that might makes right. Their boy Donald Trump, who is fond of asserting that being president means he can do whatever he wants, is simply living that creed to its fullest. Now Republicans, at long last, are enjoying a little taste of what it feels like to be on the receiving end of their own philosophy.
No sympathy for the lot of them. Even the, well that does seem to be wrong ( I am talking about you Romney and Collins)...F them.
Oh and that phone call with Turkey, you know the marmalade marshmallow makes the best deals:
Sounds Like Trump's Call With Turkey Was Not Very 'Perfect' :(
There is a surprise twist in the saga of why Donald Trump got on the phone with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Sunday night and decided, without consulting with any of his military, national security or foreign policy advisers, to pull troops out of northern Syria so Turkey could massacre some Kurds. Are you ready for the twist? It is a good twist you didn't see coming.
The twist is that Donald Trump is a spineless moron who's bad at deals.
Riiiiiiiight? Told you it was a surprising twist!
According to somebody Newsweek spoke to, who has "direct" knowledge of the phone call, Trump simply got "rolled" by Erdoğan.
Anyway, Turkey said it was going to invade, and once Trump got on the call, he was like "OK":
"President Trump was definitely out-negotiated and only endorsed the troop withdraw[al] to make it look like we are getting something—but we are not getting something," the National Security Council source told Newsweek. "The U.S. national security has entered a state of increased danger for decades to come because the president has no spine and that's the bottom line."
No spine and we got nothing out of the deal? Yep, sounds like our American president!
This is terrifying. No, no, no...this is evidence!
Trump's Ukraine Call Reportedly Terrified Top Official
In a two-page memo written by the still-anonymous whistleblower whose complaint launched the ongoing impeachment inquiry into the president, the person recounts a White House official who was on the call relaying that the conversation was “crazy,” “frightening,” and “completely lacking in substance related to national security.”
“The official, who listened to the entirety of the phone call, was visibly shaken by what had transpired and seemed keen to inform a trusted colleague within the U.S. national security apparatus about the call,” ABC reported the whistleblower also wrote in the memo.

A GOP-led Senate intel committee report states the obvious: Russia favored Trump in 2016
The Republican-led Senate Intelligence Committee just released a report that states the obvious, but in these times is quite damning for President Donald Trump: Russia directed a disinformation campaign during the 2016 election to hurt Hillary Clinton and favor Trump.
The committee has spent three years conducting a bipartisan investigation into the extent of the Kremlin’s interference during the last presidential cycle. It released the first of its findings in July, showing that Moscow-linked hackers likely tried to access election systems in all 50 states.
On Tuesday, the Senate panel released its second set of conclusions focused on Russia’s use of social media during the last campaign season. What it discovered was what US intelligence agencies have long assessed: Trump was Russia’s favorite.
This is only good news because the dumb ass rethugs actually came to that conclusion, sigh.
Let’s take a little break ‘cause it has been a time, right?
I feel so close to all of you at the GNR!
And with that, ONWARD!!
Activists Entice ICE Agents to Quit by Finding Them New Jobs
Protesters at ICE facilities sometimes chant “quit your job” at agents outside the lockups. Now an activist group is taking the message further: they’ll help ICE agents quit and find new jobs.
Since its launch this summer, the immigrant-rights group Never Again Action has held regular protests outside Immigration and Customs Enforcement facilities. There have been confrontational encounters with agents, but also conversations that left activists wondering whether ICE employees might abandon the agency.
On Monday, Never Again Action’s Atlanta branch put that question to the test with a career services program for ICE agents who wanted to quit. Within 24 hours, two immigration employees had asked for help leaving their roles, the organization says.
Hope for humanity that they are not all “hateful”.
Greta Thunberg Heads to Standing Rock to Support Indigenous Activists
For indigenous environmental activist Tokata Iron Eyes, climate solutions are all about indigenous rights and culture. When Iron Eyes met Swedish teen activist Greta Thunberg a couple of weeks ago and realized Thunberg felt the same way, she invited Thunberg to her ancestral homelands. The two 16-year-olds forged a friendship—not much different, I imagine, from the girlfriends I made when I was a young woman.
For these teens, however, the stakes are much higher.
Thunberg arrived in the U.S. in August and has since toured the country and Canada. On Sunday, she joined Iron Eyes on a panel on the climate crisis hosted by the Lakota People’s Law Project at the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota where Iron Eyes lives. Thunberg will be speaking on another panel Tuesday at Standing Rock in North Dakota, the site of a seminal 2016 protest over the Dakota Access Pipeline.
This an amazing collaboration of two young activists from very different backgrounds and experiences. My saying as always the youth will be the game changers.
Actually this may be my favorite good news of the day.
Visualize Betsy DeVos and Aunt Becky as Bunkmates (in Jail)
A judge has threatened U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos with jail time if she continues to steal money from students who were ripped off by a for-profit university.
At a hearing on October 7, U.S. Magistrate Judge Sallie Kim said she was “astounded” at the Education Department’s failure to comply with a June court order to stop collections on students who had been promised refunds of their tuition, making her the only remaining American surprised that Betsy DeVos is an awful person who is bad at a job she is unqualified for.
Okay, I spit all over my own keyboard just putting this here, OMG who knew they were “using their wealth to manipulate a broken education system for their own completely unearned advantage, so that’s a fun place to start”.
I cannot say it better that this. “If we really think these things should be off the street, we need to destroy them,” said the retailer’s CEO.
Dick’s Sporting Goods destroyed $5 million worth of guns it pulled from its stores
In a Sunday interview, Stack told CBS News that Dick’s remaining assault rifle inventory was turned into scrap metal. “I said, ‘You know what? If we really think these things should be off the street, we need to destroy them,’” he said.
Stack has emerged as one of the most vocal executives leading the gun control debate. He’s hired three lobbyists from Glover Park Group to push for gun control in Congress and announced in March that Dick’s would stop selling firearms at 125 locations — roughly 17 percent of its stores. The company would decide to expand upon this policy depending on how the 125 stores performed, the Washington Post reported.
Dick’s corporate activism doesn’t seem to be slowing down. In September, Stack and 144 other top corporate executives sent Senate leaders a letter urging Congress to expand background checks on gun sales and issue stronger “red flag” laws. While companies who signed the letter are aware of the potential for backlash, they acknowledged that their requests are in line with public opinion. Recent polls show that Americans across party lines support initiatives that could reduce gun violence.
Congratulations:
Georgia's pre-K teacher of the year is the first black man to win the award
It's a big accomplishment to be named the state teacher of the year for your grade, but even bigger when you're the first black male to ever hold the title.
Jonathon Hines, a pre-K teacher at Barack Obama Elementary School in Atlanta, told CNN winning Georgia's Pre-K Program Teacher of the Year award for public schools is an amazing feeling and "one of the greatest milestones of [his] life." He said he is humbled knowing how many other great teachers are in his state.
As far as being the first black male pre-K teacher of the year, he hopes the opportunity inspires other men to get inside the classroom and make a difference, and not just leave it to coaches.
Dogs are hero’s, no worries cat’s are awesome too...but
This South Carolina veteran never planned on adopting his rescue dog, but the pup may be the only reason he's alive today.
Brian Rand, of Beaufort, escaped his home just moments before it was consumed by fire thanks to Curly, the pup that nudged him awake in the middle of the night.
“I was really lucky,” Rand told InsideEdition.com. “Within a minute or two, that fire completely engulfed the ceiling in the attic. We’re very grateful.”
I know the SC hearing today was somewhat tumultuous but the side defending our LGBTQ friends was on fire:
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in three cases that involve LGBTQ people who were allegedly fired for their gender identity or sexual orientation. Pamela Karlan, the co-director for Stanford University’s Supreme Court Litigation Clinic and the counsel representing two gay men, left the court speechless with her opening argument.
Read it!!
Well I am sure I will miss a lot of news since this is a 24/7 news cycle of crazy gosh darn crap, does it ever end, you cannot even go to sleep or you will miss the latest tweet or story of the crazy land bogus shart faced shoots and ladders never ending game of climbing down. Discuss.
Now how can you make change! Let’s go.
As always:
Your 5 weekly to-dos
- Sign up to make some calls connecting voters to Senators to demand they commit to an open and fair impeachment trial. A fair and complete trial is literally the Senate's job, and it's critically important for us to make sure they do it right. You can volunteer from anywhere -- you just need a computer or tablet and a phone to make calls -- and we'll make sure you have everything else you need to contact voters. Can you commit to a few hours on the phones to help save our democracy? RSVP here.
- Check out impeachnow.org to find or plan an event near you. Members of Congress are still out on recess this week, which gives you even more chances to urge them to hold Trump accountable. We and our partners in the Impeach Now coalition have a website with all the tools you need to keep the pressure high -- make sure to click for more!
- Catch up on Impeachment Daily for all the latest news and strategy. Every day, Director of Democracy Policy Meagan Hatcher-Mays will be recording a video with everything you need to know to make a difference in the impeachment fight. Episodes 1-3 are now up on YouTube -- it’s must-see (online) TV.
- Read the updated 2020 endorsement guide! We’ve taken everything that Indivisibles across the country learned about making an endorsement in their 2018 races, and incorporated that into an updated version of the endorsement guide for you to use over the coming year. Give it a read to learn about why you should consider endorsing in your congressional race, why candidates care about winning your endorsement, how you can use the endorsement process to build your group’s power, and how to run an effective endorsement process locally.
- Tell your MoC to support improvements to the Democrats’ prescription drug price bill. House Democratic leadership released H.R. 3, the Lower Drug Costs Now Act of 2019, on September 19, 2019. While the bill was improved from what reports earlier in the summer suggested, there are still numerous provisions of the bill that should be strengthened before it reaches the floor. Tell your Representative to improve H.R. 3 by negotiating more drugs, and protecting patients from high launch prices and price spikes!
