Today is the day, so if you are going to watch live or follow a live blog, remember to also take care. It is hard to watch the rethuglicans spray their spittle all over whilst screaming and having the temper tantrums of a 2 year old. My heart wishes some would come to their senses. My brain knows they will not. Keep in mind we are on the right side of history, no matter what. And if you participated in a protest yesterday, I thank you and we all thank you.
About that title, truth does have power and we the majority have power because we know and believe the truth. The sunshine doth shine even brighter when the mandarin orange idiot sends stupid letters to NDP, bless her for calling them stupid and ridiculous, his “personal lawyer” goes on faux news and even on MSM to admit his guilt and implicates his boss, what a freaking dumb a**, his arrested and can’t wait until they are convicted conspirators are caught red handed taking money from Russia, the cow is so deep in it I have to wonder how he will ever dig out of that sh*t, and my gawd Doug Collins can you cry any harder, and so much more evidence from Intelligence, Judicial, IG and even Mueller. Plus the letters released by historians, scholars and law professors. It is all in plain sight, it just needs some sunshine. I know that is why we are here fighting together.
Let us not worry or fret fellow Gnusies. Let us put truth to power through our actions. They will lie, cheat and try to depress the vote, we already know they are power hungry, greedy turds. But we are the majority, we can GOTV, the most important focus right now. And we can bring the sunshine and disinfect these invasive creatures from our government.
Sorry, I know this is everywhere but, man, I just love this. Has the mango moron tweeted and said, oh they are such losers, bigly losers, I am the best, the best ever? Asking for a friend.
On Tuesday, on the eve of the vote to impeach President Donald Trump for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, crowds gathered in every corner of the country for “Nobody Is Above The Law” rallies, in which people marched and chanted to demand the president be removed from office.
The protests were far and wide, in cities from coast to coast, many of them centered on key House and Senate offices to pressure specific members to take action.
But I suppose the always tRumpers do not care because they cannot even spell.
No surprise here:
Trump is polling at a record low among active-duty military personnel: report
President Donald Trump’s support among active-duty troops has sunken to the lowest level of his presidency, according to a new Military Times poll.
“Half of active-duty military personnel contacted in the poll held an unfavorable view of President Trump, showing a continued decline in his approval rating since he was elected in 2016,” the publication reported. “Trump’s 42 percent approval in the latest poll, conducted from Oct. 23 to Dec. 2, sets his lowest mark in the survey since being elected president. Some 50 percent of troops said they had an unfavorable view of him.”
Only 41.6% of troops have a favorable impression, while 49.9% have an unfavorable view of Trump.
Shocking no one.
I had to include this from Wonkette, it was too funny to pass up, read it all.

We haven't thought that much about Rick Gates lately, but he's been back there this whole time, cooperating with the feds in multiple investigations like his former boss Paul Manafort did not. Anyway, Gates was sentenced to 22 weeks of Sundays and 23 weeks of Saturdays in prison today, even though he cooperated very goodly.
But anyway, SPEAKING OF PAUL MANAFORT, BREAKING PAUL MANAFORT NEWS.
Huh. Well, we could think all day and not find anything appropriate to say in such a time as this. Don't die, little buddy! You still got lots of secrets to tell, not that you're probably ever going to spill it, lest Putin's boys decide to take a voyage to America to do the Clinton Body Count to you, allegedly.
Anyway, Rick Gates, though! He was sentenced to 45 days in prison, but only on the weekends, which really blows when you think about it. "Enjoy freedom, dickhead! You know, except all the good parts of freedom, by which we mean the weekends. Mondays, you're good to go, though!" He also has to do three years of probation, 300 hours of community service, and pay 20,000 moneys as a fine, according to Politico's Darren Samuelsohn, who was in the courtroom and filed a report. This despite how both sides said he should only get probation, because of the part about how he cooperated very goodly. Indeed, he's still going to be cooperating, according to Molly Gaston, the government attorney who argued in court today.
Anyway, Paul Manafort, though! We still haven't thought of anything appropriate to say, but if one of Rudy Giuliani's Ukrainian chucklefucks is spotted anywhere near the hospital, WE ARE JUST SAYING that something stinky might be afoot.
The Dem’s are still working, even through all of this chaos, I know there are some negatives about this but let us focus on the positive.
2 million federal workers are poised to get paid parental leave for the first time ever
The federal government’s 2.1 million workers are poised to get paid parental leave for the first time, in a groundbreaking policy delivered in an unusual vehicle: the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
Congress has officially passed the annual bill, which establishes budgets for the military and is seen as a “must-pass” — making it an appealing measure for addressing other legislative priorities, like the paid leave provision. Starting October 1, 2020, any federal worker who has held their job for at least a year will be guaranteed 12 weeks of paid parental leave.
Funny how the rethugs try to play the Dem’s do nothing but impeachment:
Progressives Unveil New Bill to Investigate How Anti-Trafficking Law Has 'Demonized and Harmed' Sex Workers
A small coalition of Democrats in both chambers of Congress marked the International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers on Tuesday by introducing a bill that would launch an investigation into how 2018 legislation that aimed to combat sex trafficking has negatively impacted sex workers and put them at increased risk.
The SAFE SEX Workers Study Act (pdf) would direct the Department of Health and Human Services to study the "unintended impacts on the health and safety of people engaged in consensual, transactional sex" of the Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act (SESTA) and Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act (FOSTA)—U.S. Senate and House bills known as SESTA/FOSTA that President Donald Trump signed into law on April 11, 2018.
Puneet Cheema, staff attorney at Lambda Legal, was among the various advocates who welcomed the measure introduced by Reps. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) and Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) as well as Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Ron Wyden (D-Ore.). As Cheema put it: "This bill is historic in recognizing that the lives, health, and safety of people who trade sex matter."
Well, that will sit on Moscow Mitch’s desk with all the other bills.
How about some non-political good news.
Kennedy Family Organization Honors J.K. Rowling and Nancy Pelosi — with a Cameo by Barack Obama
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling were among a group of honorees at Thursday’s ceremony for the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope award…
Speakers at the event included Kerry Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy’s daughter, as well as CNN political commentator Don Lemon and former President Barack Obama, who didn’t appear in person but recorded a video tribute to Pelosi before she received her award.
“Nancy combines a set of qualities that you don’t find in many outstanding legislators, politicians or leaders generally,” Obama, 58, said. “She is tough, she knows her stuff, listens and understands. Folks in Congress are thinking and feeling about what’s important to them. She has a moral compass and knows what’s important. But she also knows what she can compromise in order to get stuff done.”
Dang straight!
An animal story that made me tear up:
Shelter volunteers drive 2K miles to reunite family with their missing dog
One dog had a trip of a lifetime when more than a dozen volunteers got together to transport him thousands of miles back to his family.
Zeus, a pit bull who lived with a single mother and her two daughters in Butte, Montana, was reportedly taken by a family friend who was visiting two months ago.
The friend, who was not identified, was later arrested in Charleston, West Virginia, and Zeus was brought to a shelter in the city, TV station WOWK reported.
After discovering that Zeus had a microchip, the Kanawha Charleston Humane Association, where Zeus was taken, began working to return him to his family.
The organization turned to Facebook to help coordinate the trip home.
Partnering with Many Paws Volunteer Transport group, the nonprofit worked to find people who would be able to transport the dog over 2,000 miles back to Montana.
The force is strong.
A nurse knit Baby Yoda Christmas hats for every newborn at a Pittsburgh hospital and they're adorable
A hospital in Pittsburgh is making headlines for the adorable handmade Baby Yoda hats they're making to dress up newborn babies this holiday season.
The hats, which feature green ears peeking out from under a Santa's hat, were made by a registered nurse who works in the baby ward at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital.
Caitlin Pechin said that it took about an hour and a half to make each hat, a tribute to the "Mandalorian" character on Disney+, and that she enjoys keeping the hospital tradition alive.
Tradition and lifesaving they do.
I know the protests are over but still here is your weekly to do’s from Indivisible:
Your 4 weekly to-dos
- Call your Representative and demand that they vote YES on impeachment. The House of Representatives is expected to vote on the articles of impeachment this Wednesday, and while Democrats have a majority in the House, we aren’t taking anything for granted. Supporters of impeachment are being out-called in some states 3 to 1, and we’ve heard some members of Congress are still on the fence about their vote. We can make a difference: everyone must call their Representative before Wednesday and demand they vote yes on impeachment!
- RSVP to a "Nobody is Above the Law" Impeachment Eve event for Tuesday night. Hundreds of thousands of people are getting ready to show that there is massive public support for impeaching Trump for his abuses of power and obstruction. That’s why on Tuesday night, the night before the House of Representatives takes a historic vote to impeach Trump, we'll take to the streets to declare that Nobody Is Above the Law. As of right now, there are more than 500 events on the map in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, with more being added every day. Make sure to RSVP for (or host) one near you.
- Call your Senator and demand a fair and open impeachment trial. If we make it through the House, the next step in the Senate. Despite the overwhelming evidence that Trump abused his authority, violated the law, and repeatedly tried to obstruct justice, Republicans are guaranteeing a rigged impeachment trial in the Senate. Over the weekend, Mitch McConnell said he will coordinate the rules of the trial with the White House and that there is “no chance” Trump will be removed from office. Call your Senators and demand they uphold their oath to defend the Constitution and hold a fair and open impeachment trial. The foundation of American democracy is at stake.
- Tell Congress to Defund Hate in the December funding bill. Congress has to fund the government by December 20, but Trump is threatening a shutdown unless he's able to continue raiding billions of dollars for his racist border wall and more immigrant detention. At the time of writing, we’re still waiting on final bill text, but we promise to keep the call page up to date, so check back there as news breaks. And of course, it’s always right to tell your members of Congress to fund the government without any increases in funding for ICE and CBP!
This cracked me up, we all need to laugh, am I right?
Someone will be sent to the hospital if this cat ever makes it out of this tinfoil-lined hallway
