Perhaps the 2nd “most necessary” Congressman in existence right now is dialed directly into what this country needs most, openness and closure. He is going to get Mueller’s report, and knows who he’s going to have to go through to get it. He does not care.
It is Sunday, preach it!
“Well, we will obviously subpoena the report. We will bring Bob Mueller in to testify before Congress. We will take it to court if necessary,” Schiff said. “And in the end, I think the Department [of Justice] understands they’re going to have to make this public. I think Barr will ultimately understand that, as well.”
Mueller testifying before Congress?
Should we ask that it be scheduled at the regular time for Monday Night Football? How about an 8:30 p.m. Eastern, so as to accommodate the type of audience sure to be tuning in? Would commercial time eclipse the Super Bowl?
****
Barr will “immediately understand it” alright. He will likely “immediately understand that his primary function as a salaried federal employee is to smother that grenade. Will he stand on the Lincoln Memorial and light it on fire?
Keep preaching here Schiff! PREACH IT!!
Schiff also took aim at Barr, saying that if the new attorney general withholds any part of the report, his legacy will be “tarnished.” Ultimately, the Democratic lawmaker added, President Trump should welcome the report’s release, given his repeated claims that there was no collusion between his campaign and the Russian government.
Well, that is certainly the right sentiment. But, given that Barr has already tarnished his legacy by agreeing to work for “he who is so obviously beholden to Russia” I am not even positive how he could tarnish it more?
“Withhold the whole thing,” you say?
Would that really tarnish him more?

Screw it, it’s academic. We’re going to have Mr. Mueller himself testify. And, again, I demand prime time. I want to be able to go to Dave and Busters and watch it the big screen, maybe Buffalo Wild Wings (avoid the Habanero, there are limits even to us who love the heat), I want to hear from the man who knows it all.
Let us sit back and accept that Mueller is likely not going to indict Trump. Comey chose to not recommend charging Hillary, and yet he stood up there and explained everything he believed she did wrong. Precedent has been set.
Wait, what? Barr says “precedent hasn’t been set”? Oh, wait, it has been set, but Republicans are going to attempt to bring about the right way to do it now?
Some have viewed Barr’s criticism of former FBI director James B. Comey during last month’s hearing as an indication of how he might handle the Mueller report. Barr argued that Comey was wrong to have announced during the 2016 campaign that former secretary of state Hillary Clinton would not be charged for her use of a private email server.
Comey might well have been wrong. But let me tell you the difference, here, Ace.
Trump — against all reason, and all that would otherwise be holy — is our current president of the United States. If there is evidence that even hints at impropriety with respect to …..ahhh anything? We damn well need to know.
Pass the loaded potato skins.
‘Cause we’re going to know.

Step right up there, Mr. Mueller. Get comfortable, this might take a while.
I believe Mr. Schiff has a few questions for you.

The article notes that Trump could ask for a copy of the report to read it. Yeah, so long as he doesn’t get scissors and a black crayon to the only copy, I am fine with that. Perhaps the old ticker and those “great genes” wouldn’t hold up against …
Screw it. Let him read it and weep, and weep, and weep.
The article also notes that Sen. Blunt — of the Senate Intelligence Committee — is, shall we say, less committed: “I think we’ll have to wait and see what’s in the report,” he said.
No. We won’t. Once it is out in the House, with Mr. Mueller there, speaking truth to power, your Republican dominated Senate show is nothing but a rerun. Good luck airing that. Maybe you could run over a few “Law and Order” fillers on TBS.

Peace, y’all. Love one another, as much as Adam Schiff loves this country.
