Sometimes the weirdest or simplest things look like something else completely. I’ve found a bunch of pics of ordinary things that may NOT be what they seem. Try and guess what they are, and I’ll answer tomorrow.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let
people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

I did promise I’d discuss what’s been happening in my life lately. It’s nothing horrific, but it is worrisome and it’s kinda thrown me for a loop. I have to change some things in my life and I’m doing that...learning to deal with it all.
A few weeks ago I suddenly began getting dizzy at breakfast time. The first day , it began an hour after getting up and I figured it was just that I was extra hungry and needed to eat. So I did. But the dizziness stayed. It eventually cleared up a bit, but it happened again at lunch time. This was what it was like every day. I knew it wasn’t an infection and that it likely wasn’t my thyroid meds. It was likely my slight hypoglycemia was on it’s way to changing to diabetes.
I was right. My doctor confirmed that my blood sugar levels were higher than normal and had been for the last 6 months, according to prior test results. I took a glucose fasting test a week ago, and my doc just confirmed yesterday that I’m “pre-diabetic”. This means a fairly massive change in diet and some habits. I’d already cut out sugar and potatoes completely just after noticing the dizziness, but now I have to cut out almost all carbs, salt & sugar. I need to lose weight. I also have to get back to daily exercise...never my favourite thing, but at least I can get out and enjoy the outdoors and go for walks while I find some exercise programs to join.
