I knew this:
"The New Deal was a series of programs, public work projects, and financial regulations. It responded to needs for relief, reform, and recovery from the Great Depression" (Wikipedia)
How many 20-somethings or 30-somethings who aren't history buffs or otherwise well-read know that?
How many people are able to recognize the relationship between the New Deal and the Green New Deal? It is just so ridiculously awkward and obscure.
To me, it's old-fart messaging. And I am an old fart.

YOU
MEAN,
DEMOCRATS!
We're talking about Green New Jobs.
