What I like most about Daily Kos is that as a community of somewhat like-minded people politically, I have tended to form what I consider to be a few genuine friendships, even with those that I disagree with on some...or perhaps even many specific political topics.
Because I am a person that dislikes confrontation as much online as I do IRL, I will confess that I have a tendency to soft-pedal or even hold back in commenting on my views of a given situation.
As it presently concerns whether or not the *resident should be impeached, I can no longer hold back...not after the news that former White House Counsel Don McGhan is being ordered by the Trump Administration to defy a Congressional subpoena to appear before the House Judiciary Committee.
It’s time to impeach begin a formal impeachment process against the president NOW. (CK-428 pm CST)
I can argue both sides of the pending question before this country as to whether or not to impeach the *resident...and there is a part of me that agrees with Speaker Pelosi to this extent: tens of millions of American citizens voted for this incompetent Damn Fool and the daily lawlessness of his administration that has followed in the wake of the 2016 election.
Yes, I do feel that the rule of law and the very existence American Republic is stake.
And perhaps Speaker Pelosi and the Democratic-controlled House of Representative can’t entirely stop this crazy train of lawlessness from jumping the track but I do feel (and have felt for some time) that they need to try as opposed to this so-called 11-dimensional bullshit.
Yeah, I know all about the Senate and the likelihood that Trump will not be convicted...etc., etc., etc….
And history will not look kindly on the United States Senate for doing so at this point...nor do I think history will look kindly upon Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic House for allowing the daily lawlessness of the Trump Administration to go unchecked.
The process of removing this *resident from office, whether through winning a national election or through the impeachment process was always going to be painful and divisive.
So I do kinda wish that Speaker Pelosi would stop trying to spoonfeed the American public castor oil; an entirely inappropriate preventative measure when a national cancer is metastasizing and growing exponentially on a daily basis.
Peace.
P.S.- Let me add this...I am still in favor of “slow-walking” impeachment procedeings...but they need to begin.
