Hi Y’all, I’m still in DC and with everything that’s going down right now have decided it’s best that I extend my stay. The ruble-drunk treasonous bastards want us all to just suck this up quietly and I’m in a unique position to make sure that doesn’t happen — at least not while their going to and from work. Trust me, you want me here, so help me out if you can. (Thanks to @UNSEATpac who donated $3000 to sponsor my trip — they get half of donations until recouping, the rest goes to me. Full disclosure.) Now, onto the signs:
I-95 north and south, just off the beltway. Up all afternoon and through rush hour yesterday, may still be there right now.
One way to assure sign duration is to make the texts intentionally cryptic so that only funny & adorable people understand them. (I call this “Puppy-whistling.”) This one means we should impeach the President for jacking off on the whole country & lying about it.
I-66 north, just off the beltway outside of Falls Church
Thanks to construction, traffic comes to a complete standstill in front of this one, giving everyone a good long time to figure it out. The one below’s a bit more direct.
I-95 northbound, up from noon until dark, gone the next day.
Same spot, same flag, different message: “They’re all lying. You all know it.”
The people who take down my signs usually leave the flags up, so I do the same but change the message, this one being a new favorite and pinpoints, I believe, the heart of the problem. This rendition got damaged by rain so I replaced it the next day changing the font to a more readable Helvetica. The sign below lasted a day and whoever was taking them down figured out what was going on and took the flag too.
A glimpse at my glamorous life.
Setting aside the whole freeways-thing, the activist left needs to step up their sign-making game because sharpies and tempera paint on posterboard obviously hasn’t been working. This, from yesterday, will give you an idea of how quickly the process goes.
Tracing time — 7 minutes.
Painting time — 16 minutes. Sign measures about 5’ x 8’
Yesterday afternoon over the beltway — may still be there.
Two-sided signs are a bit less discreet for carrying because you can’t just fold it to look like plain cardboard. In this case I just covered it with the flag.
I-66 heading for DC — there’s that construction jam I was talking about.
This sign was up for an amazing three days, so I thought it’d be cool to add a flag and perhaps give the impression some other citizen had added a patriotic stamp of approval.
Beautiful, isn’t it?
Someone took away the “Impeach” panel.
Fortunately, I’m usually prepared for these situations.
Since I always have Impeach signs with me this was a pretty easy fix. Thinking about it now though, I should’ve just added an “F” and turned the flag upside-down.
I-95 heading into DC. One of many.
Over the Beltway two days. As far as I’m concerned, no issue is as important as this one.
Next to the beltway in Annandale VA
Does this really help? I don’t know. Tell you this though, I’m not going down without a fight, and that tree looks a helluva lot different than it did without the sign.
“Trekkie,” my favorite of the trip so far. Lasted a full five days over I-66.
