Stonewall Inn Gives@StonewallGives The Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative is a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to sharing, the Spirit Of Stonewall, throughout the world.
When I was 18, in 1968, on a Friday or Saturday night, I used to sit and drink wine in the little park across the street from the Stonewall Inn, on Christopher Street. You only had to be 18 to drink in NYC, unlike 21 in NJ where I’m from.
When I was 20, 1970; I lived in NYC. A young Transgender man, bought me breakfast one day, because he could see I was hungry. He also took the time to give me good advice. He told me to go home. I did, eventually.
I remember he told me how the NYC police would lock people up for cross dressing, (as it was called).
Many years later I was in College, some type of Health Sciences class and who came to guest lecture?
Looks like the same guy who bought me breakfast. (I was only in Jersey City, an hour away from Manhattan).
He smiled at me and I smiled at him. He recognized me and I him. So nice.
They are such kind people. That’s one reason, I love Transgender people. Besides the fact, that they have, such flair!

The Museum Of Trans History And Art (MOTHA) San Francisco CA; is a museum founded by Chris E Vargas, dedicated to the preservation and representation of transgender and gender non-conforming history and art.
The museum does not have a building of its own, or fixed location. MOTHA functions as a floating museum, hosting exhibitions in art galleries, museums, and public spaces across the United States.
MOTHA is dedicated to moving the history and art of transgender people to the center of public life.
The museum insists on an expansive and unstable definition of transgender, one that is able to encompass all trans, non-binary, and gender non-conformed art and artists.
MOTHA is committed to developing a robust exhibition and programming schedule that will enrich the transgender mythos both by exhibiting works by living artists and by honoring the heroes and “transcestors,” who have come before.
Pending the construction of MOTHA, the museum will function as a series of autonomous off-site experiences in North America and throughout the world. Exhibitions And Events
