Pacific Northwest
Waterfowl are my most common wildlife visitors out on walkies these days. So that’s who are filling my buckets these days.
In the field —
Recent steady rain is filling the low spots with expanding puddles
One Snow goose hangs out with the Canada’s. Mallards like the field and puddles too.
Hoodies like freshwater as much as salt. Here they’re enjoying the puddle.
And out in the bays. Sometimes they are quite a ways offshore, and I can only tell who they are by their profiles.
Surf scoters
Buffies and Horned grebes, who usually don’t hang out together. The buffies were just passing by.
Hoodies in the bay. The drake is raising his crest, which signifies ACTION.
Off he goes, with the hen close behind.

Storm front has moved into the PacificNorthwest. Windy this morning, blowing 35 knots gusting into the 40s. Raining.
What’s up in nature in your area today?
