Go ahead and mock me for liking this guy because I think he’s pretty gorgeous, but I bet that a lot of people were first attracted to JFK because he was easy on the eyes as well.
Like JFK, Tom Winter isn’t just another pretty face, he’s also great on issues. You can read some of his story here. His record as a Montana State legislator is here.
Tom Winter wants to bring the same energy he brought to the Montana state legislature to the US Congress. Just a glimpse at his position on issues include:
Health Care — We are the richest country on earth. Yet hundreds of thousands of Americans are going bankrupt due to medical debt every year. People are dying due to rationing medication and not being able to afford to see a doctor. It doesn’t have to be this way. Healthcare is a right.
A Working Economy — We must rebuild an American economy that rewards work rather than wealth. Middle class jobs are moving overseas and new jobs don’t support families. “Full employment” used to mean everyone had a job – now it means many of us have two.
Equal Pay — Equal work deserves equal pay. Women are still paid 80 cents for every dollar a man makes. It is worse for our Native American sisters: they make 58 cents for every dollar a white man makes. Working women are often the breadwinners for their families. I support updating the Equal Pay Act.
Native Communities — (I can’t sum up or put in one paragraph Winters positions on Native Americans, they are so comprehensive, you have to go look for yourself) — here
Gun Safety — People Over Corporations -When it comes to the safety of our families and communities, I will not stand down. People are dying because our political system cares more about billionaire gun corporations than Americans. I hunt, I own long guns, and I wear flannel, but all of us deserve to be spared the heartache of watching our politicians posture while we keep losing our loved ones to gun violence.
Climate Change — Montana needs a Representative in Congress that will not ignore this ongoing crisis. Climate change is an existential crisis and is not going away on its own. Our farmers, ranchers, outdoor recreation guides, and every public lands owner in this state cannot afford to wait any longer.
That’s just a tiny bit. He fleshes these issues out and talks about many more on his website. I can’t help but think Congress will look better and act better with Tom Winter in office! Please help!
Let’s make this Winter Time!
