I want to be abundantly clear about this: I intend to vote for Joe Biden in November. I didn’t vote for him in the primary, but since Bernie Sanders conceded the primary, Biden has become the only viable candidate to end the Trump trainwreck and bring America back from the edge of disaster.
Still, we should be aware of other candidates. Justin Amash, a congressman from Michigan who used to be a Republican, has formed an exploratory committee for a presidential run.
The announcement immediately sparked worries that Amash might steal more votes from Biden than from Trump. Jacqueline Zavala tweeted in response “This is who your helping get re-elected,” with a GIF of Donald Trump dancing so awkwardly he makes Elaine Benes look graceful by comparison.
That GIF is, if I’m not mistaken, is from a video of a Jeffrey Epstein party that Trump attended. Jeffrey Epstein was convicted sex offender who died on August 10 of last year, under federal custody. Trump suggested the Clintons had Epstein killed, so as to distract from his own association with Epstein.
Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it. No one seems to have mentioned Ralph Nader in the thread, but there’s a more recent and even more painful example.
Some are not as concerned about this turn of events.
This is no time for complacency.
Justin, I think you should save your exploratory committee money and run to keep your seat in Congress. I hope your constituents would choose the Democrat, but you’re preferable to whatever Trump-supporting bastard the Republicans run. If you don’t listen to me, at least listen to everyone else on Twitter.
