Ok....maybe not exactly like him but to me the funniest stuff are punks and what would pass noe as dad jokes.
Dont get me wrong...when I was a kid my top comedian was Pee Wee Herman, and he still is.
Being a jewish kid in the 1970s I was raised on Mel Brooks, who I still love. But I got from my dad.
I cannot watch much of what comedy passes for today, for .e it is too vulgar. I know I'm in the minority here but I hardly ever swear and I dislike comedians who seem to swear at every word, etc.
Give me Carol Burnett or Bob Newhart and I'm laughing for hours.
Tell me a dad joke and I'm rolling on the floor in laughter and trading you joke for joke.
But just anything vulgar loses me. I feel like it is a five year old saying poop and then laughing hilariously because saying it was a word we were not supposed to use.
As soon as a co.edy act seems to rely on curse words to make up the substance of their work they lost me.
Sure I am not a total prude, for example I loved Richard Pryor although he swore a lot...but there were meaning and lessons behind his words.
But a lot of what I see today reminds me of Andrew Dice Clay. Vulgarity for the sake of vulgarity.
BTW Get off my lawn!
