The situation is scary. The right wing is spending billions in an attempt to deprive the poor of the very little they have.
Those billions could be used to better the lives of millions.
It's not the ambition of one man or a group of them. Yes, of course, the fascist, neo-nazi, white supremacist, bigoted masterminds pulling the strings use the insatiable greed and inflated ego of a few vainglorious narcissists who are the floodgates to power and then, in turn, once in office, misuse their power to enthrone their fellow fascists—the real masterminds.
The overall result is that racism, homophobia, xenophobia, and hatred at large are given the green light. Regrettably, there were always individuals harboring hatred in their hearts and coming up with little sharp painful microaggressions here and there—but still tried not to be too obvious about their true intentions.
The haters never stopped hurting feelings, taking advantage of others, and tearing dreams apart. And yet, in recent times until 2016, they’d more or less keep their mouths shut and their hands to themselves. Even their microaggressions tried to be not too story-telling. The reference to the other person’s skin tone, background, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, or disability used to be tenuous and indirect.
Under the Trump administration, that kind of ugliness became the norm. And no government can control the ugliness of hate. The right wing is powerful and still thirsty for more power. Underestimating that would be equivalent to making the very same fatal, catastrophic error that ended up in the Holocaust. It seems hard to believe how far evil can reach. And yet, borrowing from Pope Francis’s words, we’re talking about “the works of the devil”. And the devil’s works are always demonic.
The proliferation of expressions of hate and hate crimes shouldn’t be taken lightly.
A DailyKos article by staff writer Aysha Qamar published on Sep 27, 2021, talks about a FedEx driver identified as Vincent Paterno, who posted a TikTok tirade using vulgar language and repeating that “he wouldn’t deliver packages to homes with signs supporting Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, or Black Lives Matter”.

What about this one? On Dec 9, 2021, DailyKos staff writer Rebekah Sager published the story of an extremely regrettable incident aboard an American Airlines Philadelphia-bound flight departing from Charlotte, NC. An altercation maliciously started by a white passenger ended up in a Black family with a seven-month-old baby getting removed from the plane. Yes, you read it correctly. A white flight attendant then joined by another white flight attendant sided with the unkind white passenger—and obviously, so did the pilot. With tears in her eyes as she exited the aircraft, a Black mother carrying a baby was forced to leave the plane—despite the voices of many passengers protesting the outrageous injustice. That wasn’t just the case of one isolated crazy passenger. It involved the egregious concerted actions of airline personnel. Needless to say, the incident would cost American Airlines a very sizable settlement amount. But still, the question remains: Why would the white passenger and airline crew openly respond in such an obviously hateful manner?

On Feb 3, 2022, staff writer Ayisha Qamar wrote about a Lakewood, NJ, plow driver by the name of Donny Klarmann and his friend Ebb who not only committed a hate crime against two Orthodox Jewish men passing by but also videotaped themselves committing said crime. Yeah, Klarmann had absolutely no problem posting a video that in all likelihood would result in hate crime and assault charges against him. It happened on Jan 29, 2022. In spite of the snowstorm, the two victims were walking to attend the Shabbat service. The driver lowered the plow, aimed it at the two passers-by, and dumped snow, sleet, ice, and maybe even rocks on them. Had big chunks of ice probably mixed with rocks fallen straight on the victims, the assault would have been murder instead. The two victims could have been killed. The perpetrators were laughing. Lakewood Waste Management fired one of the assailants. Although it’s not clear which one of them, most likely it was Klarmann, the driver. All we know is that he got under investigation by the local Lakewood PD and the Ocean County Prosecutorial Office.
I tried to look up some outcome information--but couldn't find any. I didn’t find that Klarmann had been convicted. Was he? Is the matter still pending? Did he get away with it? What about his friend? Whatever the case, that was unequivocally a hate crime—and no society may be deemed safe and civilized for as long as their citizens and inhabitants may be unexpectedly attacked for who they are.
www.dailykos.com/…
The common denominator for all those cases and countless more is that the perpetrators could anticipate losing their jobs and even facing criminal charges—but they couldn’t care less. That leads me to conclude that there are three possible options—and no option is good at all. I'm not sure which one to consider to be the worst. (A) Those people are so full of hatred and fanaticized to such an extreme extent that they don’t even care because they feel confident that the likes of them will succeed in the end—and then, they’ll get their reward in the upcoming totalitarian society they dream about. (B) They were actually promised that wherever they did to foster the right-wing agenda would be rewarded as soon as their leaders regained power. (C) Someone promised them some immediate “compensation” for the commission of the particular hate act, such as a more desirable or higher-paid job, keeping them out of prison, or some other incentive.
Some time ago, DailyKos put together a petition for the removal of Republican Congressman Paul Gosar after he had tweeted an anime video showing himself killing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and brandishing swords at President Biden. And yet, so far, Gosar remains in office.
In late 2021, CNN brought up the news supported by videos of Republican Rep Lauren Boebert referring to Democratic Rep Ilham as “black-hearted” and “evil” and even slandering her as a “terrorist”.
How does she dare even pronounce Jesus’ Name? She who sows divisiveness and hatred invokes the Holy Name of the One Who came to this earth to be born in a humble manger and shed His Blood on a Cross to teach us unity and love.
The big, huge danger isn’t just the fact that there are a few crazy false prophets out there misusing, misconstruing, distorting, and falsifying Jesus’ messages of love and respect for anyone and everyone. What those false prophets are doing is blasphemous and sacrilegious—and yet, the real danger is that they’re not doing it alone. They’re part of a tenebrous right-wing takeover plan.
Only four days after the deadly school shooting at Oxford High School in Oxford, MI, U.S. Rep Thomas Massie of KY, a staunch Republican, posted a so-called Christmas picture of himself and his family—all of them holding guns that appear to be military-style weapons. And Massie dared tweet his disturbing family photo with these “wishes”: “Merry Christmas! ps Santa please bring ammo.”
That’s a desecration of the meaning of Christmas. That’s laughing in the face of the grieving families. Four teenagers had been killed and six more plus a teacher had been seriously wounded. On a lighter note, that’s just plain bad taste and totally unbecoming.
And, again, as deplorable as it is to see parents like Massie raising their children to become a new generation of gun lovers, it’s even more distressing to see how the right-wing is acting more and more in a totally I-couldn’t-care-less manner. That’s a right-wing mind-controlling technique. They don’t hide their bad and mean feelings any longer. They show pride in their racism, bigotry, love for guns, and total lack of concern for their fellow human beings.

Ron Johnson said this week he opposes affirmative action because "there always probably will be racism (...)
Do you realize what that means? It means that racism is something to get used to and live with. Can you imagine a politician saying that??? The alarming issue is not that he thinks that way—but that he can say that he thinks that way and still have political support from the likes of him. Because that means that the likes of him are way too many.
Just very recently, in an article by Thom Chandler on July 17, 2022, we can read Marjorie Taylor Greene’s appalling words when she said that “Children are in the greatest danger in America today because traditional family values are being destroyed” --and, according to her, only the biological parents are real parents. Egregious, isn’t it? Yes, she literally claims that parents should be “not fake mom and fake dad, but the biological mom and biological dad”.

Can there be anything worse than GOP senators falsely claiming to be Christian, ProLife, and patriotic and then blocking a bill to expand healthcare benefits to veterans exposed to burn pit toxins? Yes, there was something even more appalling than their voting against the bill: They were fist-bumping on the Senate floor—celebrating that they’d blocked its passage!!! That was disgusting. And yet, I'll try to find the glass half-full here: At that very moment, those senators unequivocally exposed themselves as the biggest-time liars ever—because they’re NEITHER Christian NOR ProLife NOR patriotic.
That’s very recent. You can find Ewan Palmer’s video and article in Newsweek on 07/29/22. Here’s the link:

What about Marjorie Taylor Green going hog hunting from a helicopter, launching a competition for the winner to join her in a hunt—and likening Democrats to hogs??? Below you can find the link to Lee Moran’s article and video of Sep 28, 2022. It’s disgusting, repulsive, appalling, nauseating—and alarming. Hunting animals and posing for a video with their carcasses is reprehensible enough. Implying that humans should get the same treatment is unthinkable and horrifying—for want of a better word.

What about children’s books? Kash Patel’s book entitled “The Plot Against the King” is pure brainwashing—to say the least. It’s perverting kids’ minds by poisoning them with the very same lies that they’re pushing into public opinion. And that’s not all. The launching of the book a few weeks ago was celebrated with a catapult to throw watermelons at a castle—with Adam Shiff’s face painted on the watermelons. It’s bad enough that the book has characters such as King Donald, Hillary Queenton, and a “shifty knight”. The recreation of the appalling medieval practice of throwing decapitated heads by painting the face of a living human being on the watermelons is terrifying. Making that into n activity for children is horrendous, horrific, and horrifying.

All this is much worse than a slippery slope. And the above examples are no more than a few. It’s a total chute down the cliff of hatred, bigotry, and totalitarianism. I refuse to hear that those people are ProLife. They're not. Neither pro-birth. I’ll repeat it: Neither pro-birth. The statement that they’re not ProLife because they care only about the pre-born but couldn’t care less about those already born is only partially correct. It’s correct in that the right wing doesn’t care at all about minorities, immigrants, refugees, the poor, and the sick. But that’s only part of it. The right wing doesn’t care in the least about the preborn either. If they did, they’d care about the ProLife cause—and wouldn’t keep on tarnishing it with hate and right-wing affiliations.
Nobody would try to promote their business by spanking their child, offending their neighbor, overworking their employee, abusing their partner, and kicking their dog. Nobody seriously applying for a teaching position would say that they intend to go back to the lecture model with no student participation, class discussion, group assignments, hands-on experiences, field trips, and special projects. Nobody would try to pass on to their children a passion for an academic field, art, or hobby by just hammering it into the kids as a joyless endeavor the young ones must embark on only because they have to. Nobody would do those things because they know the results would be exactly the opposite of what they’re trying to achieve. Everyone would stay away from a business run by someone who behaves in such deplorable ways. There’s no double that the docent position would be offered to someone else with teaching strategies better matching the current times. The children would end up detesting the professional field or even recreational activity in question if the parental push for it comes together with a harsh, arid, unappealing approach to it.
I have a lot more to say. And yet, this is long enough already. What terrifies, frustrates, and infuriates me is the thought that many may vote Republican only because they drank the Kool-Aid and truly believe the GOP’s claims to be ProLife. They’re not. They’re not pro-birth either. They’re racist, homophobic, xenophobic, careless, insensitive, cruel, and unresponsive to the needs of others--whether unborn or already born.
This is my closing plea: To all of you here voting Democrat, please don’t think that true ProLifers are the fanaticized monsters that right-wing ideologies turn humans into. If you’re campaigning for the midterms, in the very few days remaining, please think that whereas voter turnout is critical to preventing a catastrophic right-wing takeover, undecided voters may ultimately decide the final outcome too. I’m talking about those who deplore the GOP”s insensitivity and racism—and yet, still, they erroneously believe that Republicans care about babies. If you have a chance to reach out to those undecided voters, please make sure they understand that Republicans don’t.
