As some of you are aware, at the age of 85, my mother Vivian Williams Walton unexpectedly passed. [This links to a diary where I explained everything in detail and you are free to reread.]
I say “unexpected” but that is of course relative, considering her age. She lived a long and productive life. We have, thanks almost entirely to your contributions, scheduled her funeral for 11:00 am Saturday, February 4th at Affordable Burial and Cremation in Long Beach, CA.
We’re going to gather together and celebrate the courageous woman that she was, and give her a send-off into forever with music and memories. For my part, I’m trying to scrounge up pictures from her life, and from our life together. That’s an ongoing process.
I scheduled the services for the weekend so that people who work weekday jobs can attend. That choice added a little more to the cost but I think it’s worth it. The area is relatively small, parking is scarce, but I think it should handle things with luck.
All of you who are in the area at the time, are invited. We couldn’t even have these services without you. The moral and emotional support from you has been a great relief.
Thanks for everything.
