Polls are now closed in Louisiana, where voters are choosing candidates in races for statewide office and the legislature, with the contest for governor headlining the day. Under the state’s all-party primary system, candidates must take a majority of the vote in order to avoid a runoff, which would take place between the top-two vote-getters on Nov. 18, if necessary.
