One of the exhibits in the Ohio History Center in Columbus, Ohio is the Early Ohio Room which contains artifacts from the early invasion of non-Indian settlers into the area.
According to the display:
“Handiwork in early Ohio was a necessary part of everyone’s day. Handiwork, often pleasant tasks, were the useful tasks because most of the necessities and many luxuries had to be made by hand. Making things like household supplies, bed linens, clothes, tools, food and games required the help of all family members, young and old.”
Settlers’ Cabin
There is also a mockup of a log cabin.
