I just posted it. Take a look at it. Thanks.
Taking a Peek Into Putin’s Future
Not much love for Putin lately. Credit: Amazon.com
The Russian Mutiny may be over for now, but the political future remains somewhat murky for Vladimir Putin as is the fate of the Russia-Ukraine War.
Most editorial cartoonists think that Putin’s stature has been significantly diminished not only internationally, but more importantly, within Russia. How events unfold in the coming months or years is unclear but one thing isn’t: before the war started in early 2022, any action against the Russian state such as the recent display of open defiance by Yevgeny Prigozhin would have been virtually unthinkable.
Anyone doing so would not have lived to tell the tale. A few questions to ponder.
- Is the end near for Vladimir Putin? Or, are the news of his impending political demise greatly exaggerated?
- Either way, what does it mean for the ongoing war in Ukraine? Will it ever end and how so?
- What happens next to Yevgeny Prighozin?
- Will any perceived weakness in the Putin Regime embolden his domestic critics and external enemies?
- What else can the Biden Administration and its allies do to affect a positive outcome in Russia?
Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner mercenary group, is to leave Russia for Belarus after calling off his troops' rebellion, but the insurrection is an unprecedented challenge to Putin’s rule and will likely have lasting repercussions.
This collection contains
39 cartoons.
Read more about recent events in Russia. Clearly, it is a very fluid situation.
The diary also has a few editorial cartoons about Trump and the appalling lack of ethics on display in the Supreme Court of the United States.
I will, as I always do, post more cartoons not only in the comments section but as updates to the diary. I’ll include new ones hot off the press on the SCOTUS decision earlier today on Affirmative Action in Part 2 of this diary. I hope to post it in the next hour or so.
Thanks for supporting this diary.
