Sometimes the most obvious conclusions, take the longest time to ferret out:

A Washington, D.C.-based bar discipline committee concluded Friday that Rudy Giuliani should be disbarred for “frivolous” and “destructive” efforts to derail the 2020 presidential election in support of former President Donald Trump.
“He claimed massive election fraud but had no evidence of it,” the three-member panel declared in a 38-page decision. “By prosecuting that destructive case Mr. Giuliani, a sworn officer of the Court, forfeited his right to practice law.”
[...]
“The misconduct here sadly transcends all his past accomplishments,” they concluded. “It was unparalleled in its destructive purpose and effect. He sought to disrupt a presidential election and persists in his refusal to acknowledge the wrong he has done.”
Disbarment would be the absolute least thing they could do. Given the “destructive purpose and effect” that their flat out lies had — and continue to have — on general trust in the election system.
And the fragile democracy that depends on it. Of, by, and for the people.
Dependable democracy for how much longer, is the looming question …

Their fears are not unfounded: A recent survey conducted by the Brennan Center for Justice found that three-quarters of local election officials feel that threats against election officials have increased in recent years.

“People don’t realize the mental health situation,” Wichman said. “We’ve lost a lot of election officials throughout the country. They’re calling it the ‘Great Resignation.’ People are broken and exhausted.”
Credible threats of violence have manifested across the country — and one in five poll workers suggested they’d likely quit before the 2024 presidential election last year — but they appear to be most pronounced in closely contested swing states.

Such is the havoc that the promoters of the Big Lie have left in their wake.
Such institutional knowledge takes decades to create. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. Good luck finding enough temp workers/volunteers who can step up and fill that 20% void.
Civic service shouldn’t require enduring death threats — as one of the “perks of the job.” The long hours are bad enough. Learning to live with the threats of the demented and deceived shouldn’t be added to their already stressful duties.

Justice delayed, really is Justice denied.
“It was unparalleled in its destructive purpose and effect. He sought to disrupt a presidential election and persists in his refusal to acknowledge the wrong he has done.”
Just following orders just doesn’t seem to cut it, does it? Lawyers should know the difference between right and wrong. Lawyers (and prospective leaders) should really be on the side of upholding the Laws — not “frivolously” and “destructively” derailing them.
It’s a very slippery slope, when such abuses become normalized.

If only there were some semblance of justice left in the world …
Trump said 'I don't effing care that they have weapons. They're not here to hurt me' as an angry mob avoided metal detectors at his January 6 speech: ex-aide testimony

“I don't effing care that they have weapons. They're not here to hurt me. Take the effing mags away. Let my people in, they can march to the Capitol from here. Let the people in. Take the effing mags away."
No Joke.
Disqualification for Office is the very least they could do. You know, we the People.
If there were any effect of Justice left in the world.
