Poor Trumpy Co. cannot win for losing, as we see with their recent doomed-to-fail attempts to get Fani Willis removed from the GA RICO case. I am sure they thought they had a slam dunk when they uncovered salacious details and rumors surrounding Nathan Wade’s divorce, but the Hail Mary gambit may actually prove to be their undoing!
Maybe Joycelyn got the news that she better stop playing games before all kinds of receipts came out (my dramatization), but she appears to have backed off of asking Fani give any type of deposition after striking a tentative divorce agreement with her ex.
I don’t think Joycelyn recognized the metric shyte ton of BS that would land on her head with her actions. Heck, when I first learned of the accusations against Fani and discovered the soon-to-be ex-Mrs. Wade was part of it, I was all, “Ooo girl, you do not know who you are messing with; Fani will serve you up with gravy and biscuits.”
Crap—now I am hungry.
Yeah, ya’ll, Joycelyn effed around and found out—hard. I can only imagine that Nathan Wade's wife folded like a cheap lawn chair after Fani told her she could potentially be investigated for conspiracy to interfere with an active case.
Can we say BIG HOUSE, and no, not the kind Joycelyn is likely used to?
Whatever money MAGA might have been promising (again, dramatization) may not have been enough for her to take that risk.
The matter is shelved—for now
Judge McAfee will have to hear Mike Roman’s and Trump’s lawyers' arguments for dismal based on their perception of an apparent conflict of interest in February. However, a temporary agreement between Joycelyn and Nathan Wade has placed the situation on the back burner until then.
Surprisingly, the New York Times is a bit more even-handed with its reporting than it has been in recent days regarding the so-called scandal—read below:
Prosecutor on Trump Georgia Case Settles Divorce, Avoiding Testimony
The prosecutor, Nathan Wade, might have been forced to address allegations of a romantic relationship with his boss, Fani T. Willis, at a divorce hearing this week.
The special prosecutor leading the election interference case against former President Donald J. Trump will not have to testify this week about an alleged romantic relationship with his boss, Fani T. Willis, the Fulton County district attorney, after reaching a tentative divorce settlement on Tuesday.
The apparent resolution of the divorce between the special prosecutor, Nathan J. Wade, and his wife, Joycelyn Wade, leaves unanswered for the time being a question that has created potential peril for Ms. Willis’s high-profile prosecution of Mr. Trump and 14 of his allies.
Ms. Willis hired Mr. Wade, a lawyer in private practice, in 2021 to help run the Trump case, saying that she needed a trustworthy confidant for the job. But a filing three weeks ago from one of Mr. Trump’s co-defendants, Michael Roman, claimed that the two prosecutors were romantically involved and had taken vacations paid for by Mr. Wade.
Mr. Roman argues that this amounts to a conflict of interest, and is grounds for removing both prosecutors, as well as Ms. Willis’s entire office, from the case.
So far, neither Mr. Wade nor Ms. Willis have confirmed or denied the allegations of a relationship. But in recent days, it seemed increasingly likely that Mr. Wade would be forced to address the claims at a divorce hearing on Wednesday, where he was expected to take the stand.
The hearing was scuttled at the last minute, with a “temporary agreement” announced by the judge on Tuesday afternoon. “We can confirm that this is a temporary agreement in place while the final details are worked out,” said a spokeswoman for Andrea Dyer Hastings, Ms. Wade’s divorce lawyer.
My guess is that Judge Scott McAfee is not going to lend any credence to these spurious accusations.
Secondly, Trump Co. was indicted by two empaneled grand juries, so even if the allegations are true, they have no bearing on the introduction or outcome of the case.
Thirdly, Nathan Wade is taking a big pay cut working for the state and is making the same pay as his two White counterparts; besides, I am more than assured that any vacation they did take, they were more than able to afford with their lucrative salaries.
Mike Roman is not only seeking to have both Wade, Fani, and their entire team removed from the case; his filing seeks to have all seven felony charges against him dismissed.
Good luck with that, Homey!
