Trust Me
Isn’t that the truth?
I had finalized much of this diary last week, but didn’t find the time to post it.
I have added more editorial cartoons from this week and will post additional ones either in the comments section or as manual updates to the diary. Just wait for a few minutes after this diary goes up and I’ll start posting new cartoons that went online this evening or earlier today.
Thanks for your support.
In case you missed any of these, here are some of my recent diaries.

Could Trump Be Found Guilty in This Election Interference Trial?
The Election Interference/Stormy Daniels trial is the only game in town.
Legal maneuverings have probably delayed the other three trials until after the 2024 Election. That said, Trump could be found guilty in this trial — an honor no American President could claim.
It Takes One to Know One
For the first time, a new Yahoo News/YouGov poll shows that a majority of Americans — 52% — believe Donald Trump “falsified business records to conceal a hush money payment to a porn star” — the charge at the center of his ongoing criminal trial in Manhattan.
This represents a new high — and a significant increase from previous Yahoo News/YouGov polls conducted before courtroom testimony began last month, suggesting that coverage of the trial may be shifting perceptions of Trump’s conduct.
One of Many Trump Minions
If it does happen, will it impact the 2024 Election? That is the $64,000 question.
Donald Trump’s lawyers tried to portray the scrappy adult-film actress as a lying profiteer. Instead, she emerged as an intelligent, credible witness who is also very good at making money.
One of the markers of the Trump era, since its onset, has been its comic vulgarity. Like shiny objects waved in a toddler’s face, the former President’s sillier antics—serving fast food at a White House reception, suggesting to a seven-year-old that Santa isn’t real, staring head-on at the solar eclipse—have been a welcome distraction from the more sinister political realities of his Administration. Eventually, Trump will go on trial for the serious crimes with which he’s been charged: his alleged illegal attempts to overturn the 2020 Presidential election, his role in the January 6th insurrection, and his possible mishandling of classified documents. But, until then, we have his hush-money trial in Manhattan, which has felt like a lurid parody of twenty-first-century Americana.
The trial has given us Trump’s former aide Hope Hicks bursting into tears on the witness stand and the ex-National Enquirer publisher David Pecker telling the court how hard it was to get Trump to pay him back when he caught and killed potentially damaging tabloid stories about him.
And yet this seeming diversion of a trial might also lead to the first guilty verdict of a former President in American history, with Stormy Daniels as the implement who gets us there. Who would have thought?

How will the jury decide in this case?
“As the jurors filed into the Manhattan courtroom, day after day, almost none of them would look at Donald Trump. It’s one of those unsettling signs for defendants and their lawyers who worry about a guilty verdict,” The Bulwark reports.
“Those worries have only grown in Trump’s orbit as allies have all but abandoned hope of acquittal. Even Trump, though he railed Monday on social media about the judge and the case, has privately sounded a note of resignation…”
“But there is one clear hope MAGAville clings to: a hung jury that results in a mistrial.”
“If that happens, Trump allies suspect that it will be chiefly due to the one juror who has made friendly eye contact with Trump from time to time as the jury enters the room and walks right past the defense table.”
