When I say that you can take a slice out of fossil carbon, I mean YOU. And your kids. Challenge schools, local government, retirement plans, college endowments, and investment companies. They can’t win any more in the argument between corporate greed and Real Money, Real Lives, and our only Real Planet.
Children always have been our most important renewable resource. We need to protect them better, too.

The Economist [paywalled]: The exponential growth of solar power will change the world
Today solar power is long past the toy phase. Panels now occupy an area around half that of Wales, and this year they will provide the world with about 6% of its electricity—which is almost three times as much electrical energy as America consumed back in 1954. Yet this historic growth is only the second-most-remarkable thing about the rise of solar power. The most remarkable is that it is nowhere near over.
When I was a global high-tech market analyst, I constantly had to explain to other analysts, corporations, and governments, about exponential growth getting far beyond their imaginings, and here it is again.

EVs
That’s Tesla, General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis, which owns Chrysler and many other brands.
I will have a post on Republican chaos in Georgia soon. That will be part of it, because Georgia Rs want to take credit for this, but can’t stand the idea of government doing good for the people.

Country News
No, that’s India going absurdly weak on renewables. Compare it with China. India isn’t as bad as it used to be, but its Net-Zero target is 20 years behind the rest of the world, in 2070.
New Delhi: India is now the world’s third-largest solar energy producer, behind China and the US, and ahead of Japan, shows the Global Electricity Review 2024 by global energy think-tank Ember.
Denial
There aren’t any “solar pessimists”. There are only paid corporate shills plus those who want to be lied to.
No More Nukes
I said no more nuke technology, just reasons to fuggedaboudit. I didn’t expect so many this week.
