So much for their “respect: for precedent. Again.
With the Chevron decision today, and following Dobbs and the gun cases and many others, this court continues to show its contempt for their sworn testimony to Congress during their confirmation hearings about settled law and respect for precedent. What a corrupt joke,. This Chevron decision will have stunning, long-term implications for environmental, consumer protection , and other agency decision making….. and leave questions about any number of rules uo to the whims of some extreme right-wing judges, of which there are many.
It is remarkable — with this decision, and the others the last few days, effectively legalizing bribery and corruption, criminalizing homelessness, giving French kiss to bump stocks, and undermining some of the prosecutions of thew 1/6 traitors — along with intentionally delaying rulings on further abortion restrictions until after the election — it’s almost as if this corrupt, right-wing court is trying to see how much damage it and harm it can do in a single term.
And of course, they continue take their damn sweet time on the insane Trump immunity case, delaying this til the very last day of the session this Monday. A case which is breathtaking in it’s idiocy and which, should have taken them 5 minutes to rule on, if they insisted on taking the case at all.
What an abomination.
Highlights the stakes of this election yet again….
