Depression?
What depression?
You got this!
And so do I!
(I think the crazy Supreme Court ruling has me just a little depressed.)
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at, to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off Daily Kos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on Daily Kos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

Our theme song:
Ha!
This song has been playing in my head in recent times:
And also, this song:
Learning to love myself is the greatest love of all?
Okay.
And she seems to be telling us to teach that idea to the children.
Okay.
I truly do like myself a lot.
And I have contact with my nieces, at times.
So, I need to tell them they are champions?
Okay.
I can have them watch this music video, if their parents approve.
“They can’t take away my dignity.”
That song makes me cry.
In the late sixties and early seventies, I was in the Boy Scouts of America.
www.usscouts.org/…
On my honor, I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.
Extrapolating on that last line:
DUTY TO SELF: Keeping yourself physically strong means taking care of your body. Eat the right foods and build your strength. Staying mentally awake means learn all you can, be curious, and ask questions. Being morally straight means to live your life with honesty, to be clean in your speech and actions, and to be a person of strong character.
A short time after Tonia died, sometime during the year 2022, I often thought about the Boy Scout Oath.
I realized that I need to keep myself:
- Physically healthy and strong.
- Financially healthy and strong.
- Emotionally healthy and strong.
Emotionally healthy means happy.
I need to maintain my physical health and my budget, to stay happy.
Seems to me.
Okay, I am starting to feel better now.
The water is on to boil, for more coffee.
I already had food and pills.
(I am writing this up Monday, before 6 PM, way in advance.)
Well, drink your gazpacho, and eat your ice cream.
Hugs!
