So we're getting MAGA responses here that it wasn't really a free and fair election. And people are upset that their candidate didn't run, therefore it wasn't a free and fair election. And the DNC made it impossible for anybody else to run.
I thought the claim that "things change " was an obviously insufficient basis to try to justify throwing away the results of a free and fair election, but at least that person didn't engage in conspiracy theories and claim that the Democratic Party primary was not a free and fair election.
What happened to being the pro-democracy party?

The excuses to justify throwing away the results of a free and fair election, the one and only democratic process that we have to choose a nominee, baffle me coming from people who are supposed to support democracy and the Democratic Party.
Some people seem to believe that since things change, then we can throw out the results of free and fair elections. hings always change. That doesn't justify ignoring the expressed will of the voters in the vote. Things changed since the election, therefore, ignoring the vote and going with something different on January sixth of 2021 is totally justified. Okay. This is not exactly the way to show one is a great defender of democracy.
And why? We had a 90 minute event capable of multiple interpretations with nothing comparable since then. The obligation isn't on President Biden to prove that he deserves to retain the position he earned by winning 87% of the votes of Democratic Party primary voters; the obligation is on the person saying we should jettison the results of a free and fair democratic process.
If we had polling evidence that proved some other candidate had a better chance of winning than President Biden, then even though it would be a radically anti-democratic move it would at least be rational. As it is, it makes one concerned about cognitive decline but not in the sense President Biden's detractors mean.
The other guy has mental health issues and is a fascist.
Has the media pushed the message that Donald Trump's mental health is worse? Donald Trump said that you need id to buy bread, thinks Hannibal Lechter is a real person, said that he is afraid that President Biden will lead us into World War 2 which ENDED IN 1945, said that magnets stop working in water, said that injecting Clorox bleach into one's veins was the way to treat COVID
Donald Trump has phonemic paraphasia.
Donald Trump confuses PEOPLE HE KNOWS RELATIVELY WELL. That's different than getting a name wrong. He puts one person in another person's office and attributes (sometimes supposed) powers of that office to the person who never held the office.
.
.
He confused Former Governor Jeb Bush and Former President George W Bush . DT: Jeb Bush led us into the Iraq War. A governor can't call the United States into war. The president does this after an AUMF is passed.
.
.
He confused Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Former President Obama - DT we had an election against Obama and nobody thought we would win. Former President Obama was not a presidential candidate in 2016. So, Donald Trump could not run against President Obama in 2016.
.
.
He confused Former President Obama and President Biden 9 times. One example is when he said that Vladimir Putin didn't respect the way Obama was running the White House. The rescue device isn't plausible. The rescue device was that he was saying President Obama because he wanted to insult President Biden by implying that President Biden was incapacitated and not running the executive branch of the federal government. The rescue device weakens the attempted criticism. If Vladimir Putin doesn't respect the way Former President Obama is running the White House (why his opinion matters is confusing) , then we can put President Biden back in and maybe Putin will respect the way that the White House is being run better. 2. If you watch the video, there is no evidence in his facial expression that Donald Trump is being sarcastic. 3. If you listen to his voice, there is no indication that he is being sarcastic. If you wanted to make that insult, you wouldn't say "President Obama", but rather you would say, "President Harris". 4. Concern that some people have is President Biden's age. So, if you told people that they were actually getting another term of Former President Obama when Joe Biden is in office, then they would feel relieved. Moreover, Former President Obama is popular. 5. You wouldn't say "President Obama" if you wanted to make that insult because since Former President Obama is not even in any government position or office, it is simply not plausible to say that he is running the executive branch of the federal government. 6&7 You would say President Harris if you wanted to make that insult. 6. You would say "President Harris" not "President Obama" if you wanted to make that insult because Vice President Harris has lower poll numbers. 7. Vice President Harris actually occupies the office from which the person who would take over the office of president if the president were to become incapacitated. Therefore, the simple Occam's razor conclusion is that Donald Trump on at least nine different occasions didn't even know who the president of the United States is. That's bad.
.
.
Donald Trump confused Former Governor Nikki Haley and Former Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi. NIKKI HALEY was the governor of South Carolina, an important state in the Republican Party primary because of the evangelicals there and Bob Jones University, from 2011-2017. Donald Trump nominated her to be the US Ambassador to the United Nations. She was the last major political candidate to compete against him in the 2024 Republican Party Primary. Former Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi was speaker whenever the Democratic Party held control of the House of Representatives in recent times. Now Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries would take that roll of we win. So, he knows both of these two people relatively well. In fact, Nancy Pelosi was speaker of the House of Representatives from January 3rd, 2019 to January 3rd, 2021 while Donald Trump occupied the White House. Yet he put Nikki Haley in the Speaker's office, attributing power to that office that the holder of the office doesn't actually have in order to deflect criticism over the insurrection he incited, and he did this FOUR times. Four times he mentally and verbally put Nikki Haley in the office of Speaker of the House of Representatives on January sixth, and he NEVER CORRECTED HIMSELF.

Thus, Donald Trump's mental health is far worse than President Biden's. The media have simply magnified and relentlessly pushed this false theory about President Biden for four years. As a result, confirmation bias does the work for Donald Trump and the Republican Party and the pundits.
