Pelosi made an appearance July 10th (yesterday morning) on the Morning Joe Show where she stated,” It’s up to the president to decide if he is going to run. We are all encouraging him to make that decision. Because time is running short.”
Pelosi continued, “I want him to do whatever he decides to do. And that’s the way it is. Whatever he decides, we go with.”
The NYT then published a story with the headline:
“Pelosi Suggests That Biden Could Reconsider Decision to Stay in the Race.”
Here is the NYT headline, so you can see it for yourself: www.nytimes.com/…
After the NYT published this story, Pelosi was interviewed by CBS News reporter Jaala Brown.
Brown: Do you think that Biden is the best to defeat Trump?
Pelosi: Why do you think that I would have that interview here? I think the President is great. And there are some misrepresentations of what I have said. I never said he should reconsider his decision. The decision is the President’s. I don’t know what’s happened in the New York Times that they make up news. But if that’s why you’re here, it isn’t true.”
Brown also quoted House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries as saying:
“I made clear publicly the day after the debate that I support President Joe Biden and the Democratic ticket. My position has not changed.”
And Brown quoted Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, when pressed on whether Biden should drop out, stating laconically:
“I’m with Joe.”

So…
If you hear people parroting that Nancy Pelosi has called on Biden to drop out of the race, they are going off of the NYT’s deliberate misquotation of Nancy Pelosi’s words on the Morning Joe Show.
If you confront someone about the NYT headline being false, and they reply, “oh but Pelosi was heard in private conversation saying that Biden should drop out,” that is hearsay. If Pelosi was not seen and documented saying something publicly, there is no proof that it was said for real at all — no different than if I said, “Ted Cruz said Santa is real. He told someone he saw Santa when he was going on vacation during one of Texas storms! Trust me!”
There are people out there actively trying to spread misinformation in an effort to divide and demoralize us. Be careful, folks.
Alright, with that said, let’s get back to work winning this election.
