When he puts up good poll numbers OR he drops out. That’s how he silences the debate. As long as his numbers suck, we’re not going to hear the end of this.

I know there’s an idea floating around here that we can browbeat not just our elected officials, but our fellow voters into voting for Biden. This is wishful thinking. How many of you are out in the real world talking to other Democrats? I am. I am surrounded by liberals, leftists, and basically no MAGA people. I have heard a handful of people say they like Biden. They are in the minority. Everyone else is on a spectrum from “he’s OK” to “he’s too old”. (I won’t get into the leftists’ opinion of him, because they probably won’t vote anyway).
A lot of the people I know are pissed off at Biden. They see a man who is refusing to accept reality and dooming all of us to a Trump dictatorship. Those people will still vote for him, but they’re mad. They’re not going to buy the excuses that I’m seeing here. They make my complaining about him look positively mild.

Yes, that’s anecdotal. But you know what’s not anecdotal? The polls. Now I’ve heard that we can’t trust the polls. OK, how should we gauge how he’s doing? He’s got 17 (update- 18) elected Democrats saying he shouldn’t run, with top level Democrats saying things that sound awful ambivalent about his campaign. He’s got most of the media telling us he’s too old. Where are the signs that he’s winning?
Seriously. I was with him until about a month ago. I was telling people- it’s too late to change, just let it go. But all that time I was thinking man, his campaign is really low key, and why are his numbers stuck so low? It was unnerving how little we were seeing the guy. It was weird that he skipped the Super Bowl interview, one of the best opportunities a president gets to speak to the public. Yeah, I know he’s busy being president, but every incumbent president I remember was able to run a campaign AND be president at the same time (Trump being something of an outlier in terms of “being president” in name only).
Did you know that Biden has held less solo news conferences than any of the last seven presidents, including Ronald Reagan? That doesn’t concern you?
What’s he going to do to turn it around? And, more importantly, if he has a plan, why wasn’t he already doing that?

And sure, handing off the nomination to Kamala Harris has risks. But I’ll point you to a video that for me solidified my opinion of Biden’s candidacy. There’s two things of note in that video. One is Biden’s blank stare, one I’ve only seen on a person who just had a seizure, friends really high on drugs, or someone having some sort of other issue with their brain.
But the other thing I see in the video? Kamala Harris. Looking young and vibrant. I know all things aren’t equal, but I like her chances better. Can I prove that? How, with polling? I’ve been told not to trust the polls. So I guess not.

You can all continue to call me names, it is what it is. I don’t have much more that I can personally do. My rep has already asked for Biden to step down. I’ve already cancelled my donations to him because I want to send him a message to step down. At this point, like everyone else, I’m just waiting to see what happens. But it’s not going away no matter how many recipes you post, or how many beatings you administer. Life it not like that.
