That everyone cherrypicks the polls that makes them feel better, or backs their side, seems to be axiomatic. I notice the people trying to suggest Biden can’t win (according to the polls) are deftly avoiding the ones that show Biden can win (according to polls). And still, we are all prepared, like oracles reading coffee grinds, to say definitively who will (or can) win...
You would think our only job here ( as political animals) is to watch and report the polls( like the nightly TV idiots) in the hopes that they serve our side’s spin for a given day, while soothing us until tomorrow’s poll numbers, and on and on, ad nauseam...

But this is a truly grotesque, non-participatory vision of politics— but one that only could give Nate Silver and the polling industry an orgasm of money, and make you a paralyzed, sidelined armchair observer of your fate ( unless you are called by a pollster every day), rather than someone creating conditions on the ground for actual victory..
