I have not seen any Biden volunteers or Democratic Committee people canvassing for Biden or the Democratic Party. We've had over 5,000 new housing units permitted or built since 2020 where I live.
I saw a sample script and it has been updated to reflect several major changes in the composition of households since 2000. By now, the Biden campaign should have identified all municipalities, parishes and political subdivisions where x% of new housing units have been built since 2020. AND modified the campaign script to include these questions or similar queries where appropriate.
Will you be living here Election Day this year? (November 5)
If no ask,
When will you be moving?
The database that maintains the results of the door to door canvass will need to be modified to include the results of these queries.
A winning campaign will identify the municipalities and implement these and other script and database modifications not described here but suggested.
Based upon the last day voters may register there should be a visit from the presidential campaign to screen the new resident(s) to determine presidential preference. If Democratic AND if eligible, welcome the new resident(s) to your community and register our new voters.
Obviously, the campaign database should be queried for these vacated housing units every x number of days and lists sent to the appropriate party, campaign office, volunteer, etc.
A word about campaigns:
My theory of running campaigns can be very succinctly stated, " The campaign you're running should be the model most frequently emulated in the next election cycle. AND NOT BASED UPON winning campaigns employed in the previous election cycle."
The Republicans are very good at developing and using campaign innovations. The Democrats are not.
Whoever is running the Democratic Presidential campaign should be running the campaign that is most emulated in 2025 and 2026. If you’re not, what are your chances of winning?
Many studies by many academics suggest that all that money spent on TV, radio, and internet advertising changes very few votes. See the work Alexander Coppock (Yale ), Dennis Green (GU) and many others. See Jon Favreau on Alex Wagner’s show last year.
Pay very close attention to their suggestions where many campaign dollars should be spent. I’m sure Leonard Leo has and is in the process of developing one or more new campaign tools to be used in this future election cycles.
I don't know if the Marble Foundation's new campaign tools will be deployed this year; at this time I‘d save it for ‘26. The Republican candidate for President won’t need them.
I will vote for the Democratic candidate for President as I have in the last 15 election cycles, I’ll be proud to vote for the Biden-Harris ticket but it’s a losing ticket that will cost us many Senate and House seats.
Don’t forget the innumerable state house and senate seats, judgeships, municipal officials, etc. Currently, the Democratic Party has its deepest since 1980.
Poll 20 field folks who have run GOTV in a major American city (pop. over 500 K) and I suspect that at least 14 of my peers will agree with me that Biden is a landslide loser. A Republican filibuster proof Senate till at least 2030.
Winning campaigns nurture volunteers starting in the Spring to harvest an the Instant Army that is needed and deployed beginning the 2nd Friday (11 days) before Election Day,
The army is usually turned over to someone like me to setup and run Election Day GOTV. DON’T GET IN OUR WAY THE 72 HOURS BEFORE THE ELECTION DAY STARTING FIRES. NOR THE NEXT 20 HOURS.
The Republicans are very good at developing new campaign innovations.
The Democrats are not.
