I appreciate the passionate support Biden has among the most vocal posters here. It’s passion that we will need to keep Trump out of office. So thank you. I mean that sincerely.
One thing that unites us is our deep desire to keep America from becoming a Trumpian autocracy—which is what it will be if Trump wins, especially if the Republicans take the Senate and expand their lead in the House. We’re looking at game over.
Those of us who voice our worry that Joe Biden, despite his accomplishments and our respect for him, can’t get enough of the electorate to re-elect him share your fears of a Trump win. We just differ on how to prevent it.
If Biden is the nominee, he’ll have to win PA, MI, and WI. Those three states essentially form his only path to re-election according to polling. (You may disagree with the polling, but when multiple pollsters come up with similar results, it’s hard to argue that they’re all way off.)
If Biden wins, we will have to be more than keyboard warriors. We’ll have to give $ and give time and give energy to getting out the vote in those key battlegrounds. I know we will do that. I am certainly ready, here in PA, to get to work.
Here is what is worrying those of us who hope that we can run someone else (most likely Harris) instead. This is how narrow Biden’s path is, according to Doug Sosnik, an experienced, long-time Democratic adviser:

Thank you for considering this. Mostly, I hope that we can take the heat down a notch. There’s a lot of destructive name-calling and CT going around. This is damaging to the eventual unity that we’re all going to have to commit to.
Let’s respect one another and do what we must to elect Democrats.
