On today’s episode of, “well that was embarrassing to watch,” Bernie Moreno spoke with reporters today and immediately fell flat on his face. Bernie Moreno is running for the Senate in Ohio against incumbent Senator Sherrod Brown (D).
Moreno: “I can tell you this... I will talk to you at any point in time, even take tough questions. Sherrod Brown won’t do that… and didn’t we see that with Biden? They kept him in a cocoon? They kept him in the basement? If you can’t come out here and address the media, talk to reporters, give your position, and be unequivocal and clear? You have no business being in elected office…”
Reporter: “You said earlier this week that you support restrictions on abortions after 15 weeks. Do you think that contradicts what the party’s new position — new platform — is on the issue overall?”
Moreno: “Look, we’re not here to talk about abortion...”
Within seconds of taking cheap shots at Senator Sherrod Brown and Biden, accusing them of dodging reporters and avoiding answering tough questions, Morena then dodged a reporter and avoided answering a tough question. That is how toxic the abortion issue is now for Republicans because they know they are dead wrong on the issue. Republicans know the abortion issue is lethal at the polls for them.
This is all the more reason all Republicans, not just Trump, have to be defeated at the polls. They chose positions that they know the American people do not want, and then they lie to try to cover their own rear ends when confronted. They try to deflect our attention and “wag the dog.” They know they are on the wrong side of history. They know that all they have up their sleeve is to attack Biden with is his age.
It is not the DNC that is filled with hypocrites. It is the RNC. It is not Biden who is too old. The game Republicans keep trying to play at the American people’s expense is old.
It is up to us, the voters, to shove that arrogant smug “I am superior” attitude up their ballot boxes.
Like Moreno said, “If you can’t come out and address the media, talk to reporters, give your position, and be unequivocal and clear, you have no business being in elected office.”
