It was too hot to leave the house today.
For the first time in my life, I have air conditioning that works, and I am enjoying it. Anyway, I had stuff to do, like my laundry.
I took a little break from my day’s labors and saw that somebody had shot at Donald Trump.
I wasn’t surprised. His kind of rhetoric inspires violence.
I am scared, because his kind of rhetoric inspires violence.
So, some advice, from a lady who lived in a city neighborhood, where gang fights were a regular occurrence.
If you hear gunshots, turn off lights and stay away from windows.
Don’t park your car outside, if you don’t have to. Bullet holes are expensive to fix.
If you have a sign in your yard, bring it in.
If you’re flying a pride flag, take it down. (I flew one for Pride month, and some genius sent the cops to my house at 4;30 in the morning.)
If you have a bumper sticker or a magnet on your car, take it off.
Do not make yourself a target.
Trumpers are crazy. Trumpers are violent. Do not provoke them.
If you’re planning a trip to Morraine State Park, in Pennsylvania, or McConnells Mills, cancel it. Butler County Pennsylvania is not going to be a safe place right now.
I used to think I had an overactive imagination. Then January 6 happened.
Now, I tell myself, Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t all out to get you.
Be afraid, my friends. Be very afraid.
