This will be quick, probably mostly a question for Markos himself. I looked at the front page at several points today, and there has been a decided lack of home-grown coverage of anything. My most recent count showed the following
- 2 articles by named staff (Markos himself and Greg Dworkin)
- 3 articles by unnamed “Daily Kos Staff”
- 1 article, presumably purchased, with the Tom Tomorrow cartoon
- 6 articles by the Associated Press
We saw the diary about Kerry Eleveld leaving, but I haven’t seen much else in the way of announcements of staff changes. I also haven’t seen many of the usual staff postings, either, so I’m wondering if you are having to cut way back to stay afloat. I also see that you’re advertising for a Managing Editor and a Staff Reporter, which doesn’t really match the idea that you’re letting everybody go.
It may well be none of our business, but I’m curious to know what your staffing trends look like.
