A good way to find some ways to volunteer, is by searching mobilize.us or events.democrats.org/…
I think that the Democrats.org page leads to a subset of the Mobilize.us platform. And lots of organizations have pages here; DailyKos has one.
The DK page on www.mobilize.us/...
I think that searching on the general link for mobilize.us gets a wider array of volunteer opportunities. (I’m not sure if the Daily Kos page on mobilize.us is subsetting only to some events).
Regardless, the following tips should help when using either website.
Search on www.mobilize.us by clicking on “filters”.
TIPS: Searching by location (like a zip code) works well. The checkbox to restrict only to virtual events works well. The date function works well. The general keyword search (the first box) seems to work pretty well. I don’t find it useful to restrict by event type, organization or by tags because the type and tags seem a bit chaotic/inconsistent.
Filtering events
For example, I live in a blue state and it has been hard to find events in a neighboring swing state if I just go the main landing page or if I search using my home zipcode. But if instead you pick a zip code you’re willing to drive to, then voila. (Tip: To find a potential zip code, I just used google maps to find something drivable and then clicked on a random business to find their zip code.)
FWIW, here’s a link to a brief YouTube video talking about how the VAN and mobilize are connected:
