This is meant as an unofficial thread for the Daily Kos Elections crowd to discuss what is going on with Biden and efforts to get him to step down from the Presidential nomination. This is because very wisely talk over who should be the nominee aka primary talk is forbidden because it tends to drown out all other talk. All I ask for in this thread is that we keep it to electoral politics (how it will affect the election) rather than policy.
Think about this. A year ago there were similar conversations that had been ongoing for sometime. Except it was whether Joe Biden for the good of the ticket should replace Kamala Harris with someone more popular. With even suggestions maybe she could be put on the Supreme Court. Now the Eye of Mordor has cast it’s gaze on Joe Biden with many looking at Kamala Harris as a replacement.
The Republican Convention is in full swing. As predicted Biden has faded from the news. Polling not so great with a lot of rumors of cataclysmic unreleased private polls. Expected. Democrats going into a tizzy about them. Again expected. And as predicted falling on deaf ears.
Democrats will be doing a virtual roll call soon. Something again everyone knew. Opposition to it being brushed aside. Because we knew the Biden campaign controlled the mechanisms that control the nominating process.
Biden has been pretty much the same. In his Lester Holt interview good content. Shaky delivery. One thing I have been noticing in these situations. He looks and sounds much worse when I am streaming and just hearing the audio than when I see him also on the video. His vocal dips, stumbles, and losing his train of thought is a lot more noticeable. Physically he does look a lot better than his voice on it’s own conveys.
My own opinion? What you see is what you get. We're seeing the baseline. For better or worse.
