The corporate media is not neutral.
Presidential popularity in the 21st Century has less to do with policy and selecting a candidate and more to do with how the right leaning corporate media chooses to demonstrate their power and describe or not describe a candidate.
Promotion of Meaningless Campaigns
Electability has largely drifted away from policy and moved toward the false imagery that the national corporate media provides to the candidate of either their choice or opposition.
In His Own Words
President Biden, in his own words, may not consider himself a progressive but he’s smart enough to realize that the Democratic Party constituency has changed over the years. The progressive wing of the party is significant enough in voting percentages that they must be addressed in policy if not often by name.
Something similar happened in the 2016 campaign against Hillary Clinton when the media jumped all over FBI director Comey’s politically motivated late campaign revelations amount her alleged email misdeeds. Whether or not it gave Trump just enough votes to win the electoral college vote is almost besides the point. It was an attempt at sabotaging her campaign.
Why the Corporate Media Majority Favors Trump

Which bring us as to why I believe the hammer has been disgracefully dropped by the corporate media on Joe’s campaign at this moment in history. I believe it is more than reasonable to argue three things:
- The Corporate Media today quite naturally leans right.
- That same Corporate Media realizes, as many of us have also come to realize, that November’s election is potentially an all or nothing proposition as it pertains to the winning or losing Party’s survival.
- The Corporate Media has deliberately held back on decimating Trump’s electoral chances in 2024 for the last four years. It mostly favors him and has done all it can to coverup the worst aspects of the crimes he has committed.
The Two Parties Drift in Opposite Directions
Just as the Republican Party drifted right until their more reactionary and fascist Trump led MAGA wing gained policy control over it, they feared that Biden will likewise have to, or be pressured towards, moving to the Party’s left. Ultimately, they seek, by giving $$$ to both parties, to win either way. Biden’s self admitted poor performance especially scared Democratic big donors, making them jump ship along with some rank and file Democrats and high office holders. The panic was great enough for some Party leaders to ignore the wisdom of not trying to change ship so late in the game. Among them were obviously some who might have been unhappy for some time with Biden seeking a second term and they jumped at the bad debate opportunity.
It should be remembered that the Corporate Media, as well as corporations in general, have always given money to both Parties and have loyalties towards neither, and just follow their natural tendencies to put profits first.
“All-in” on Trump
Many if not most Corporations have gone “all-in” on Trump
Much of the corporate media has recently gone “all in” Texas Hold’em style with a simultaneous cease fire on Trump and attack on the Democrats and President Biden.
Invisible $$$ Strings
Whatever big money that gets invested in Democratic Party campaigns has always had invisible strings attached — that they don’t drift too far left and endanger their or Wall Street’s privileged low tax status or their media domination.
They believe, rightly or wrongly, that they will benefit more under Trump and Republican rule, even under a dictatorship, as well as many other corporations. They care little about how much his domestic and foreign policies may weaken and destabilize us.
Committing Political Suicide?
A respectful campaign to pressure Biden to not run in 2024 and prepare another younger candidate for 2024 might have made some sense a year or more ago, but at this late date is tantamount to asking Biden to commit a bloodless seppuku in a political sense.
At this stage, much lies in the hands of President Biden himself. Only he knows the full extent of the reasons for his bad debate performance. I would also image only he and those closest to have an accurate sense if at 81 he can handle the rigors will be required in his campaign. The final campaign months will be much harsher than actually functioning day-to-day away as president.
