For all those calling for Biden to step down, they should know that the voting coalition Obama built is different from what Biden has built and it would be different from what coalition any other potential new candidate is able to build between now and November.
So my question is, for all the polling about those who want Biden to drop out, what is the assurance that there will be enough people to vote for the democrat on the ticket? Start with the 14 million who have voted for the ticket as it stands and whose votes are being invalidated by the hand wringing. Will they vote for the new nominee? Who will convince them that their vote counts now that Biden is off the ticket? What is the extent of their loyalty to the party that is so indecisive? The party which is trying to seize a nomination just like how Trump sought to stay in power. Think about it. It is just the same. Only this time a few people think their votes will count more in November than others.
After you have deducted this number of “disenfranchised” voters from the 14 million, how many will vote for the new person? How many votes can this new person bring in between now and November?
Let’s think carefully through before mass hysteria destroys a potential win.
I believe this disaffection can cost Adam Schiff and all the people who think Biden needs to get out so they can win. I can tell you in Schiff’s constituency, there are people who may choose to stay at home and not vote because of this act of Brutus!!
