Please Note: This is barely an actual “diary” and more of a general update for those of us following the “STOLLEN” classified documents case, which recently came to a halting THUD courtesy of Judge Aileen Cannon.
One of our fellow users did a dairy on the appeal yesterday, but even after an update and an edit this morning, still wrote, “I also was not able to track down a link to the filing itself, which would add clarity” so let me start by adding that link first:
Notice of Appeal - Final Judgment — Document #673
* I’ll save you the click — there’s really nothing there but a notice of appeal
That filing and today’s “Transmission of Notice of Appeal and Docket Sheet to USCA,” effectively bring a close to the docket for United States v. Trump (9:23-cr-80101), District Court, S.D. Florida.
So good timing that I just got a notice from the Big Cases Bot on shXitter w/ the docket for the appeal before the 11th:
Quick link to the docket for non-Elmo Musk fans:
United States v. Donald Trump (24-12311) Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit
To be clear, there’s nothing there yet except what is essentially the same filing we saw on the OG case docket, which is just the notice of appeal. That being said, for anyone that wants to follow the appeal, bookmark the link to the docket and let’s all hope the 11th swats this nonsense down ASAP and gets this case back on track.
IANAL, but of all the cases Trump is facing, this one strikes me as the biggest no-brainer of them all.
And as a reminder, let’s not forget that Trump is on record — as per the OG indictment for haphazardly showing off TOP SECRET CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS:
35. Upon greeting the writer, publisher, and his two staff members, TRUMP stated, "Look what I found, this was [the Senior Military Official's) plan of attack, read it and just show ... it 's interesting.”
<snip>
The document that TRUMP possessed and showed on July 21, 2021, is charged as Count 32 in this Superseding Indictment.
36. In August or September 2021, when he was no longer president, TRUMP met in his office at The Bedminster Club with a representative of his political action committee (the " PAC Representative"). During the meeting, TRUMP commented that an ongoing military operation in Country B was not going well. TRUMP showed the PAC Representative a classified map of Country Band told the PAC Representative that he should not be showing the map to the PAC Representative and to not get too close. The PAC Represe ntative did not have a security clearance or any need-to-know classified information about the military operation.
* that was the paragraph that Cannon agreed to strike bc it didn’t relate to a charged document.
Nor should we ever forget the photographic evidence of the way in which Trump handled our nation’s most important national defense intelligence:
Photos from Trump indictment show boxes of classified documents stored in Mar-a-Lago shower, ballroom
ONE FINAL NOTE: Love a good discussion, but pls. do source your claims!
