...is Harris vs. Trump.
C'mon, can't anyone remember four years ago?
Context: I am a lifelong Democrat, a Californian, a senior, the son of an immigrant, and a person of color.
I was a constituent of Harris' when she was California Attorney General. I followed her career before that.
Sorry to say this, but to me Harris is a Narc. If you're not old enough to know what that means, it's 60s/70s slang for someone who is either an actual cop or someone who rats on drug users. It's also used simply for any person who has a prosecutor's punishment bent.
Remember her campaign slogan? "For the People." That came from her pride at having been a prosecutor.
In case you haven't been paying attention, the prosecutors in this country have a long record of discrimination against people of color. Harris wasn't any different in that respect.
Our country incarcerates more people than any other country in the world. Harris was one of the people responsible for that.
Please don't forget that in the 2020 primaries, Harris was so unpopular that she was the third candidate to drop out. She was never a serious contender for the Presidency, regardless of the reasons Biden had for choosing her to be VP.
Do you really think the voters who rejected Hillary Clinton in 2016 are now going to rally around Kamala Harris? They're misogynistic and racist. That hasn't changed in four years. They either won't vote or will vote against her.
