It’s time to March again — on the Supreme Court — but this time, we won’t be bringing flowers. We’ll be bringing anger! And we have a shitload to be angry about: stripping away the rights of women, the homeless and LGBTQ+ folks, prioritizing guns and bump stocks over public safety, upholding gerrymandered districts perpetuating minority rule and, perhaps most egregiously, giving the presidency dictatorial powers and immunity way beyond what our country’s founders ever dreamed of, with frightening consequences we have yet to fully consider.
There are so many reasons we should focus our anger and energy on a mass demonstration denouncing the corruption and partisan hackery of SCOTUS. Here are a few:
- We can do this irrespective of any decision the Democrats make with regards to Biden’s candidacy. It doesn’t matter who the candidate is, so we can go for this now and hope the Democrats sort out their conundrum as best they can.
- Anger motivates. The right wing has successfully riled up anger (against what, I haven’t the faintest) to drive people to the polls. Time for us to channel ten times more righteous anger. Stay angry, not depressed.
- How many Senators and Members of Congress will join us? Methinks a lot.
So, who’s up for this?
Who knows how to pull these things off? I don’t but I will put my body on the line for this.
Can we get something started here?
EXORCISE THE SUPREME COURT!
Now.
Peace, y’all.
