Hi all. Want to make this a short and sharp article.
I am running a start-up that focuses on profitability and growth for companies through treating their people well — respect them, let their voice be heard and engender trust throughout the organization. Prove this time and time again, hold it, and watch the needs of the business be met, along with the staff. With a tight focus on profitability. Just so you know I don’t just say “communicate better”.
And I also belong to a number of Chamber of Commerces and in networking events I attend religiously every month for the last 3-4 years, the one big worry business leaders there have is VUCA — especially the Uncertainty bit. That goes to the core of having a comfortable life. With recessions, inflation and the effect downstream, people are worried. It’s literally the number one topic that people come back to “how is business for you? How are you surviving?”
In a Economic Health Report released by the overarching Chamber organisation, the number one concern is cybersecurity. Again, certainty.
They aren’t crowing that they (will) pay less tax — although they don’t mind.
Yes, some would like to sack people. However, a fair number do not set out to have this as their goal, and anyway, those people tend to not do the hard yards of networking. They’d also get frozen out if they crowed about fking people off because they don’t like paying wages.
…..
So basically, well rounded not unethical people who vote conservative generally (not myself, but that is why I like it, I add variety and diversity of thought) trying to give a good service and product offering and keeping clients over the long-term. Otherwise, you do a lot of sales work just to keep getting new clients to bring in revenue.

So with all of that, and with the news that hardly any CEOs are giving to Trump, the five-fire alarm of the SC decision means to me that business is not keen on Trump becoming an autocrat.
North Korea can be NK over there. But when the heart of the world economy is run by a nutcase like Trump, then business is going to get scared. If they aren’t already.

So my assumption is that behind the scenes business are freaking out at this. So in any campaign to now not just target Trump, you also connect with business who do not want laws being made on a whim, and the possibility of being hunted down if you express an opinion that mental nut case Trump just doesn’t like.
It is also a MASSIVE killer to innovation. And although the highest rates of pay for high talent is in the US (and not say in Germany), Trump and his Project will not make the place that attractive to them. Who wants to one day be doing software engineering for a tech firm, and next day be put in a cell and maybe tortured, for what reason other than they look non-white? They’ll go to Canada, Australia, even work in the EU.
I’m not sure business likes the idea of crashing the US economy because Putin wants to win a 100 year old psych war with the West.
Worth investigating further and taking into account.
