Mark Summer’s recent piece vented our collective exasperation over SCOTUS’s nonsense immunity ruling, using “gallows humor.” (Not surprisingly, the inevitable squabble followed in the comments over his “literary device.”)
BUT, seriously what can he do?
As President, Biden has the power to declassify secrets and to direct agencies to open up their files and data vaults to the public. Within those data vaults, within the data vaults of our NatSec apparatus, there is likely some incredibly damning information notating instances of Trump’s trespass of critical national security and other acts of malfeasance, including personal improprieties that would be the undoing of anyone else not under the protection of Satan.
This is information that these agencies do not publicly divulge because of “political neutrality.” (amiright? note the quotation marks)
Biden should authorize a big data dump on Trump, his organization, his associates, and frankly, if any family members have made the transgression data vault, include them in the reveal.
Add Republican members of SCOTUS and Congress to that list. I mean, do we really know everything about Matt Gaetz’s interstate dalliances? And what were those Russian linked servers really doing in Trump’s tower back in 2015? If Biden is going down, he may as well exorcise all our national demons. And in the process he may indeed help save our soul.
DK readers are encouraged to add your own realistic actions the President can take given the impunity the Republican SCOTUS seems to favor for their “own team.” =====>
