I wonder why Putin’s bots are working double overtime on slating Dark Brandon. Would that be because they’ve developed a sudden enthusiasm for democracy or because they think they can lead Dems off the trail and up the creek?
Please make up your own mind but I would ask you to consider a few points:
There are only two viable candidates, as it’s a Biden-Harris ticket (and I gather the funds are tied to that). Equally, were there a transition that’s the only smooth/ viable transition other than Taylor Swift.
The valid judges of fitness for office on medical/ cognitive grounds are the Presidential medical team and I’m pretty sure they’re already on the job. However, as we’re having a media-driven trial by tankies it makes a whole lot more sense to cheer on President Biden’s fight back every time he hits the mark, while also making sure VP Harris and the broader team get a good crack of the whip. Then instead of turning on Dems, disrespecting Dark Brandon and dancing to Trump’s tune, Dems can set out stalwart support for the President and show Dems’ strength in depth, which backs any candidate.
Having drawn Dark Brandon into more public interviews and a faster pace in public those questioning his capabilities have what they wanted but have also moved the trial into a public court where the matter will resolve itself. If appearances go well DB gets a clean slate, if they go poorly questions return. Binding on about it in the meantime is prejudging the test that has been set and allowing the far right to run two courts/ to keep moving the goalposts. ‘Oh, but I’m totally objective!’ If you’re already posting against Dark Brandon your confirmation bias is set to on and looking for more negatives than positives, just how Trump likes it.
I will round off with a mention for the hairy-handed gent who ran amok in Kent. Last night in Britain Labour carried out a pretty brutal takeover in the most Conservative of all counties. There is no way they should have been able to gorge on Kent, but their opposition was split right down the middle. In the case of Kent that’s quite a result and now a real opportunity to be known for what they do rather than what’s said about them. However, the nature of the win does well and truly emphasize that division is doom . . . and Dems maybe need a real tight focus on remembering that?
