So, I haven’t seen any reporting on Executive Orders regarding the recent SCOTUS ruling regarding Presidential immunity. The SCOTUS majority has abandoned all semblance of legal logic, and have instituted their will, lacking any reasonable interpretation of the US Constitution. And, these Trump-appointed conservative Justices LIED in their Senate confirmation hearings, saying, under oath, they would uphold prior SCOTUS legal precedent. Therefore, I have a concern (to put it mildly).
I’m not an attorney, but by my layman analysis of the recent SCOTUS ruling regarding Presidential immunity, a POTUS may now issue Executive Orders, and be immune from oversight and any legal recourse. Baring impeachment and subsequent conviction in the Senate, or 25th Amendment provisions, these new Executive Orders would be immediately enforceable. Therefore, the recent SCOTUS ruling will allow a POTUS to implement ANY Executive Orders under “official acts as President”, and have no legal repercussions, nor any recourse for plaintiffs.
I sincerely hope I’m wrong…
