Sir,
On both sides of "That Thursday," nothing has changed. You are the most successfully progressive and economically resurgent president since FDR. You have full capacity to build on that for four more years.
At this point it is false modesty and even destructive pride to fail in articulating your amazing successes.
No, sir, you cannot argue with MAGA crazy chaos. Your mistake was to think that that particular chaos is arbitrary.
You cannot fight rats within your own party who would rather make your ankles bleed than win with a moderate who accomplished everything they dream of doing, but cannot because of their nasty Left extremism.
You keep it simple. You keep it direct. You let the people see what the opposition is about in their chaos theory attack on your bottom-up inside-out democracy; you give us and democracy the power, while denying the Right fascist tendencies on behalf of a craven few ultra-rich and the Left extremism on behalf of their pathological blathering self-righteousness.
You state A ... "That is crazy" ... then you respond with B ... "I accomplished (fill in one item from the long list) for the American people instead."
You could have made at least sixty of these terse retorts during the debate and, despite your hoarse voice and dismay over Trump insanity, would have buried their campaign to end democracy.
Do it now and all the way through to your inauguration. England and France led the way over the first two legs of the international grand race. You bring home the Triple Crown of Democracy.
Incompetent fools fear the sometimes creaky wisdom that comes with age and vast superior accomplishment.
Best,
